MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Inconsistent VM to email
« on: July 01, 2020, 11:07:35 AM »
We're also experiencing this intermittent issue using Office 365. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. We're on programming version 6.3.7.97. I might suggest Travis' gmail option to my manager as an alternative since that seems to be working...any security issues with that method, since we wouldn't be using one of our o365 addresses?

or does anyone else have a fix for this possibly? Thanks

Disable Camp On.
Wealth of knowledge you are, sir. Thank you!!

So we had one of our users put in an odd request...is there a way to keep the phone from ringing when they are on another line on speakerphone? One method that I thought might work was enabling DND before you make a call, but 1) Not even sure if that would work - I'll test it. 2) If she answers a call and then tries to enable it, I'm not sure you can do that.

Figured I'd post on here and see if anybody has done this before. I did a search but nothing came up.

Thanks!

Hey jcatucci812,

Is his email setup for enhanced integration or forward and copy?

-Travis
Hi Travis,

Forward and copy.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / One user not receiving VM emails
« on: June 10, 2020, 04:23:14 PM »
I tried troubleshooting this myself before coming here, but I'm out of steps to try. We have VM email forwarding set up for a couple of our users in our Mitel 250 system. A couple of months ago it stopped working (I think it was when we upgraded from 5000 to 250), but then a few weeks back it randomly started working again. However, there is one user that is still not receiving emails. Here are some things I checked:

- If I go to edit the user, I see the email sync settings are correct - Forward & Copy and MP3 as the format.
- This user didn't have a login password (which I would always see a message about when loading up DB Programming), so I set a password for his user account thinking maybe there was some security preventing email forwarding from functioning. Regardless if that's true or not, it didn't make a difference.
- I tried deleting some potential "ghost" spaces in his email address field just to make sure there wasn't an extra space at the end that was throwing anything off.
- His Email Sync with MWI Client is set to Yes, while two other users' whose VM email forwarding works is set to No. I didn't want to change that setting because I didn't want to screw anything up since the user we're dealing with is high on the food chain. I wouldn't think that would make a difference anyway, would it?

And that's where I'm at. I was looking all around for other settings but nothing stuck out to me.

Thank you for your help in advance!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: 5360 Current Model/Upgrades?
« on: March 30, 2020, 11:20:29 AM »
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like we should possibly avoid the 6900 series..

I forgot to mention our HW/SW. I'm not exactly a phone sys expert so hopefully I communicate this properly. Our phone system is a Mitel 5000. A few months ago we recently upgrade our software to MiVoice Office 250. So I'm not entirely sure if they changed the name of the system from 5000 to 250...but I believe we're on software version 6.3.97.0.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5360 Current Model/Upgrades?
« on: March 26, 2020, 11:29:06 AM »
Hello,

We are potentially looking to purchase some new Mitel phones for our sales team. Some of our users currently have the Mitel 5360, so we would be interested in seeing what the current model or comparable handset to that phone would be. We’d also like to be able to use the wireless DECT handsets with the new phones. Would someone possibly be able to make some recommendations please?

Thank you!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: No commas/periods in certain fields

Thanks for the reply, Ace. You're always very helpful on these forums. Nevertheless, I'm about to provide a weird update. I ended up speaking with our phone vendor who has remote access to our system and funny enough he was able to add commas/periods to those fields on his end. I confirmed that he is using the same DB version as us. But neither myself nor my fellow coworker can add them. However, our vendor provided a workaround for me which did work. While in DB Programming, I went to View and enabled On-Line Monitor (which I've used before for other stuff), and then I was able to add commas/periods to the fields. He stated that it might be an issue due to a Windows Update or something, but for now that workaround will suffice.

Any explanation for that? Because I'm pretty confused at this point, lol. I assumed it was an intended change by Mitel with the new version upgrade and then that excerpt in the help article about the control characters - something that you seemed to confirm, but now I have my phone vendor saying they still work for him, and then shows me a way to change them via on-line monitor. Gotta love technology.. :-\

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / No commas/periods in certain fields
« on: December 09, 2019, 12:54:41 PM »
Good afternoon,

I’m working in MiVoice Office 250 DB Programming (we recently upgraded) and noticed the system does not accept commas and other symbols in the Description and Username fields. The previous version accepted those characters. I searched the help topic within the system and Mitel states to not use control characters in the Description and Username fields, but I don't believe those are control characters. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks in advance!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Mass change subnet mask remotely?
« on: February 11, 2019, 10:02:17 AM »
Thanks for the responses. Turns out the Subnet Mask and Gateway were blank on pretty much all of the phones so they were able to grab the correct address from HDCP.

Thanks for the help.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mass change subnet mask remotely?
« on: February 06, 2019, 03:40:59 PM »
Hello All,

Long story short: This upcoming weekend we're re-addressing our entire network scheme. All of our phones are set to DHCP. Most of our models are 5320/5330. As a result of this project, we'll have to change the subnet mask on each phone. Is there anyway to do this remotely for all of the phones? We have about 50+ phones and I'd love to not have to go to each one just to change an IP setting.

Phone system we're using is Mitel 5000.

Thank you in advance for the hopefully good news!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Rebooting phone system weekly?
« on: August 06, 2018, 11:25:14 AM »
Thank you for the posts. Seems like there's no necessary reason for a weekly reboot, at least from the surface level.

I'm going to remove it and I guess we'll see what happens.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Rebooting phone system weekly?
« on: August 03, 2018, 01:13:59 PM »
Hello All,

Our phone system is scheduled to restart once a week. I believe our contractor who originally set the system up was the one who scheduled it. I was just curious as to why they may have done this? It's a bit annoying as the reboot wipes away the call history on all of our phones. If it's a necessary evil then it's not a big deal, but I was hoping maybe someone could possibly share the logic behind restarting it once a week. Maybe it's good practice to clear the cache out or something?

Thanks

Jcatucci812,

Yes, the feature code is called Redirect Call (default: 331).

Thanks,

TE

I'd like to chime in on this conversation.

@Tech - unless I'm misunderstanding something (which is very possible ha), it seems like your proposed method is for how to send a caller you already have on the line to voicemail. I believe Debbie wants to know if there is a way to directly send a caller (that's not on the line yet) directly to voicemail, rather than answer the call and perform your method.

I'd like to know if this is possible. I already know how to transfer a caller that's already on the line to a voice mailbox. However, I don't know if there is a way when my phone is ringing, to push a button and send that caller directly to my voicemail rather than let it ring. We're using 5320 and 5330 IP phones. A couple users here have the 5360 phone with the touch screen display, and when they want to send a caller to voicemail, they simply push the button that appears on the screen "Send to Vmail".

I'm going to look and see if there is a feature code for something like that where you can add that function to a programmable key.
