Title: 911 going internal? SX200 5.0
Post by: Crowtalks on April 14, 2014, 05:40:14 PM
Programming a SX200 for a nursing home and whilst the customer wants the nurses stations and admin area to dial Emergency Services when the dial 911, they want the analog room phones to dial the nurses station if the inmates dial 911, but to have external call ability otherwise. I have never sent 911 two different location from one switch before, so how would I achieve this?

Thanks, Jim

First off, I am not sure this is legal in the US, but it would be fairly simple with the SX-200, but since it has to be done via ARS, you would have to loop an analog extension back to a trunk, build a trunk group for that "line", and use COR to limit 911 to calls to that specific trunk group for those people...

Something like make a list of two routes, one includes the regular outside lines for 911 calls, and the second option includes the trunk group that contains the "lines" that are looped back to extensions, then use COR to restrict the rooms from accessing the first route, but allowing access to the second route, then use digit modification on that route to remove all digits and dial the extension you want it to go to.

Thanks Ace

This is what I have done:

Route 2, normal 911 route COR Group 2, member COR 2  DMT 2 absorb 0
Route 11 Room 911 route COR Group 11 no members  DMT 11 absorb 3, insert local DID number to access hunt group for nurses stations

analog sets COR 2

9 String has both these Rte in List 1

List 1, Rte 2 then Rte 11

When I dial 911, still goes to 911...

any ideas?

Is the digit string marked Emergency or Local? I think I will have to be Local to work properly, because emergency routes will ignore COR...

Cool, glad it worked for you... the only other thing to keep in mind is that without this being a route marked emergency, the system will NOT alert the console or raise an emergency alarm if 911 is called.
