Hi
Is anyone here from Australia please ?
I`m going to install a Mitel 5000 in Ausi and wants to know some details.
1.Would a 5000 CS/HX work over there
2.Would the on board Analog ports work with the lines
3.Would a T1/E1, BRM cards work with the digital lines over there
I will be setting the system up in the UK.
Thanks in advance.

Australia has had the 5000/MiVO250 since aboutn 5.1SP3.
Only HX controller and no DEI supported.
As long as you have the latest release it will be fine.
Analog trunks are OK but they don't release well with trunk to trunk transfer
E1 and BRI are fine.
Just use the Australian DB and you should be good to go. Numbering plan is a little different to the UK and US.

Tech1302,
Yes, the big thing to remember is select Australia as the region when creating a new DB as some of the Metadata could be different than the UK; at least it is for the US version. This will cause you no end of headaches if you pick the wrong one.
Thanks,
TE

Thanks for the replies guys.
I was going to install a V2 CS system. So, that means this would not work in Ausi right ?
This is not a proper install as such. More of a favour for a mate. Was going to install the system with 4 Exts. CAT A Phones
Cheers

Tech1302,
It doesn't mean it won't work, but it won't be supported by Mitel for three reasons.
1. Version 2 of the CS Controller is not longer supported.
2. The CS Controller is at EOL
3. The version of software support for Australia started at 5.1
Sorry,
TE

Being in Australia I have never had to deal with anything previous to 5.1SP3. HX controllers are the only system supported here.
I doubt you will have an Australian DB available in that version and things will not work properly, mainly the analog trunks.
Also analog extensions, we have different flash timers here. (120ms) so calls can't be transferred from SLT etc...

Thanks again guys.
As i said this is for a very small company. So, i don`t really need SWA or support.
All this guy needs is the capability to transfer calls to a CRA after office hours.
Sarond,
Do you have any suggestions to achieve this goal without putting in a system ?
Thanks

You could try one of the cloud based pbx providers.
Although I've never tried their services I have heard the below are ok.
www.maxo.com.au
www.faktortel.com.au
Are analog trunks a requirement? What about SIP?

Cheers
This guys doesn't even know what trunks he`s got. :)
Is there an easy way to identify what trunks he`s got ?
All he knows that he`s with Telstra.
-
Does he have an existing PBX?
-
Nope. Just a single phone.
That is why i thought it must be an Analog line.
-
That would be a safe bet. I'd say he has analog trunks.
