All,
We have a hosted Mitel solution that has been working great since we installed it in January this year. The problem we have now is that we were sold an Algo 8301 paging adapter and are now finding out that it won't work in a paging group even though it's SIP based. So to be clear... I can call the extension that the 8301 is configured for and it works fine, but when I put it in the paging group it doesn't work. Our tech resource suggested that we "splice into the speaker of an old SIP phone and tie that to the 8301 or find a used Mitel paging adapter"... obviously we're not going to tear apart a phone and splice into the speaker....
Anyone else run into this and how did you resolve it? I just can't wrap my head around why a SIP paging device won't work in a 100% SIP environment???
TIA,
Don

You can get a 5330 off of ebay for ~$20US.
That's a pretty cheap fix/workaround for that problem.

SIP Device and Page Group are not compatible as per the help files.

What model phones? 6900 series phones in MiNET mode are able to receive multicast paging on MiVB 9.1 and later. So, if the phones and the Algo unit are on the same subnet (or you're able to route multicast traffic between multiple subnets), you can use the Algo unit as a multicast page server and set up the phones to receive the multicast traffic from the Algo.
