Mitel Software Applications / Re: MiCollab + PC Connectivity
« on: September 16, 2016, 01:52:35 PM »
I didn't know you could do that. :)

I guess I'm more of the "Windows" guy for my department but I handle the phone stuff as well. I'm running a Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Pro with all of the latest updates and I'm able to connect to my phone and view/edit buttons as you described. My vote is that the controller upgrade is to blame.

Here is my method - YMMV:

MiCollab Server/NuPoint Web Console/Call Flow

 1. Enter The Mailbox for your main line.
 2. You'll see the call flow for your auto attendant.
 3. Select Actions/Recordings from the top toolbar.
 4. The Recording Status screen will open with a list of menus that currently host recordings.
 5. Find the entry for your main line - probably labelled "Open Menu" or "Day Menu"
 6. You can Record or Import from this screen - I use Import.

Here are the specs if you are going to import a recorded greeting file - we use Goldwave to record greetings:

File Type: WAV u-Law, 8000 Hz, 64 Kbps, mono

There may be other variants of a WAV file that are permitted, but this one always works for us.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MiCollab Client "Send Problem Report"

I was wondering about this as well - thanks everyone!

I have the same issue, just one user (desktop and mobile client).  All other users are OK.  It suggests an issue with their account??

I'm theorizing, but I would assume that the mobile client depends on the desktop client's data in order to track appointments - calendar data is pushed to the desktop first, then to the mobile client. If that's accurate, I would reiterate the same questions I posed to OP - is there a difference in the OS or version of Office the user is running compared to the rest of the userbase? There are known compatibility issues between certain versions of MiCollab and certain versions of Office.

I'm looking to implement the same thing. I believe this would require direct interaction with the SQL database, but that's only my best guess.

Hi

I have one user who doesn't have the option in the MiCollab client to integrate into their calendar. I can't see any difference in the config and that of a user who has the option. Any ideas what I might be missing?

In the mobile client is says "calendar integration is not enabled on the server"

What version of MiCollab are you running? What kind of calendar are you trying to integrate? If it's Outlook, there's a chance it won't be supported in certain versions of MiCollab. I had several users who were using calendar integration with Office 2013 lose it because we upgraded to Office 2016.

Hey yep found the problem.

UC Endpoint (SIP) Softphone does not have this ability. Program it as a 5020 Minet Softphone and this will grant the 3 way conference functionality.

Moona - I have a couple users that randomly lost the transfer functionality. Would you mind sharing what settings you are using on a basic level to facilitate this - specifically the keys tab for a user within the MBG? How many calls should a single Multicall Line be able to support? Is there any reason to create more than one? Please advise.

Thanks!

Sorry and i may be mistaken but doesn't this workaround expose a security hole in Windows as per the following Windows Security fix?

MS15-055: Vulnerability in Schannel could allow information disclosure: May 12, 2015
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3061518

My take on this situation is that any workaround for this issue is going to involve creating a vulnerability. Microsoft is addressing a security flaw that older versions of the UCA do not support. The only real fix is to upgrade your systems and applications.

Good to know - thanks.

Workaround...add this registry key :

It's working great for me..

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\KeyExchangeAlgorithms\Diffie-Hellman]
 "ClientMinKeyBitLength"=dword:00000200

Nice catch. What is your understanding on how this works?

Many thanks!

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Informational: Microsoft KB2163017
« on: June 20, 2016, 11:55:22 AM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
I also wanted to add that we have a customer that has MiCollab with Voice 6.0.206.0 and using MiCollab Client 6.0.509.0. When used on a Windows 10 Machine with MS Update KB3163018 they reported that they were no longer able to keep a connection (See Pic Below).

They also reported that once the Microsoft update was removed they were once again able to maintain a connection and have the MiCollab Client operate as normal.

I opened up a ticket with Mitel on it and their official response was that in order to support Windows 10 that they would need to upgrade to MiCollab 7.1.

Just wanted to share with y'all.

Thanks,
-Iron

Good catch - I noticed the same issue from KB3163018. Is there a way I can edit the title of this topic so that both updates are referenced?

Microsoft released a cumulative update this week to address a number of security-related issues in Windows 10. Unfortunately, this update appears to sever MiCollab Client's ability to communicate with its servers. After login, the client reports "Disconnected from server" and repeatedly attempts to re-connect. I noted this issue today after updating a PC running MiCollab 6.0.510. Uninstalling the referenced Windows Update resolved the issue.

At my work I've started creating unlicensed "Chat Only" user accounts for new users, then adding phones to them after we figure out the department they're assigned to. MiCollab doesn't handle this very well - once the phone is assigned, MiCollab shows a grey "Offline" icon in their status. I'm assuming this is because the user's statuses do not recognize the phone correctly, since the default statuses were created before the user had a phone. Is there a way to remedy this?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Mitel Call recorder
« on: June 09, 2016, 01:43:48 PM »
Hi
I have a customer currently using Re-Tell Sense call recorder 2.6.2

They have purchased the mitel Call recorder (formally oiasys)

My question, is there an easy way to export the calls from one database into the new one or is there no way.

Google tells me that Retell supports "Bulk Export" of calls, but if it works like Mitel, you'll end up with a bunch of WAV files, which cannot be imported (at least not with Oaisys). Depending on how the files are labelled on export, could the customer host the WAV files on a file server and download them as needed?
