I recently installed a 3300 at a resort with mostly analog phones including the internal help desk phones. On the old system they had an audible message waiting indicator for the help desk I think the voicemail would call the phone and let it ring once then disconnect. My google fu is failing me I can find visual indicators and have set up the SMTP forward on the NuPoint but the help desk manager is still looking for an audible solution.

Any ideas?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MCD 6.0 and DSS
« on: March 11, 2013, 05:27:48 PM »
I might be losing my mind here but....

I just installed a customer with MCD 6.0 using DSS and none of the DSS appearances will ring even if they are set to ring or ring continuous.

The key line appearances will ring

You can have a DSS set to ring correct?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Whats new in 6.0
« on: December 21, 2012, 12:16:45 PM »
MCD Release 6.0

New Features and Capabilities

Location Based Call Routing directs designated numbers to appropriate services located in the same zone as the device from which the users are dialing.
Hot Desk PIN Security ensures that all hot desk users have strong PINs by forcing them to create new, more secure PINs. Users who log in with a weak PIN are automatically routed to the NuPoint Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and guided through a PIN change. NuPoint, MAS, and MCD must all be configured for Hot Desk PIN Security to work. Each component has its own provisioning for proper integration.
Post Call Destination automatically forwards callers to a specified destination after the called party hangs up.
SIP-related enhancements:
SIP Hot Desking extends support for hot desking to the 5604 and 5607 wireless devices.

SIP Hot Desk Lockout - All SIP and Hot Desk user accounts now support a single lockout model. Hot Desk users are locked out from the system for 15 minutes if they enter an invalid PIN three times within five minutes. The number of attempts and the length of the lockout are programmable using the DISA values in the System Options form. See System Options.

Call Billing for SIP Gateway provides the following billing enhancements for SIP trunk calls:

the ability to send billing information to a trunk gateway, using the P-Asserted-Identity header

the ability to provision a Default_Billing_Number and a Default_CPN for each network zone; these numbers can be sent instead of a caller's or diverting party's public number for caller identification and billing purposes

the ability to provide correct public and billing number information for diverted calls and calls involving an EHDU

Transport_Layer_Security (TLS) as defined by RFC 2246 is supported for SIP connections with Mitel-branded TLS-capable SIP devices (including 5603, 5604, 5607) and any 3rd party SIP devices approved by Mitel's SIP Center of Excellence with TLS interworking.

SIP Trunk Bulk Registration: RFC 6140 is implemented to allow registering multiple DNs with a single registration name (see SIP Peer Profile) when configuring SIP trunks.

The following options added to accommodate customers' configuration needs:

SIP TLS - Use ip fqdn as last Common Name in Certificate (Controller Registry form)

If TLS use sips Scheme (SIP Devices Capabilities form)

Enable Mitel Proprietary SDP (SIP Devices Capabilities form)

New maintenance commands for querying SIP hot desk subscriptions.
Tandem Switch Support for Nupoint forwards incoming calls received across dial in trunks to a voice mailbox located on NuPoint or Embedded Mitel Express Messenger (EMEM). Forwarding to a voice mailbox is achieved through two new fields in the Trunk Attribute form; Dial In Trunks Answer Point and Dial In Trunks Insert Forwarding Information. For example, suppose "6135921234" is the called party number digits on the incoming trunk. The 6 leading digits "613592" are absorbed by programming the "Dial-In Trunks Incoming Digit Modification - Absorb" field. The "Dial In Trunks Insert Forwarding Information" field is set to "Yes" and the "Dial In Trunks Answer Point" field is programmed with the voice mail system destination digits. The forward from information contains the voice mailbox number "1234" and the call is directed to that mailbox to leave or listen to messages.

Embedded Unified Messaging (UM) lets MCD users receive and manage voice messages through an e-mail client. Message states are synchronized between the e-mail client (e-mail message store) and phone (voice message store). Embedded UM supports secure connections to the IMAP server using TLS or STARTTLS.

System Data Synchronization enhancements:

New maintenance commands for checking and repairing database inconsistencies that lead to SDS sync failures, removing elements from the network, and suspending data-sharing with an element.

GDM CHECK USERANDSERVICE

GDM REPAIR USERANDSERVICE

REMOVE NE

REMOVE SHARING NE

reduction in SDS sync failures caused by Telephone Directory conflicts, particularly in a clustered hospitality environment where the frequency of tel dir changes is high.

External Twinning - A new type of Multi-device User Group limited to two members, usually a desk phone and a cell phone. The External Twinning solution does not consume a Multi-device User license. Instead, it consumes an IP User license and possibly an External Hot Desk User license. You can now program a Full Service user as the prime of a Multi-device User group if the group type is External Twin. The IP User license for the group is consumed when you program the Full Service user in the User Device Configuration form.

Hebrew prompt support added to the MCD embedded voice mail application.

MCD for Industry Standard Server (ISS) can operate as a Designated License Manager and obtain system licenses while disconnected (offline) from the Application Management Center (AMC). Formerly, licenses could only be obtained while online.

Embedded Voice Mail Time Zone Support - MCD now supports local timestamps in embedded voice mail messages when an external hot desk user is in a different time zone than the system time zone. See Date and Time for more information.

Direct Transfer to Voice Mail sends an active call to the requested user's voice mailbox without ringing the phone and waiting for the system to forward the call to the voice mail system.

Embedded Voice Mail available to Mitel Communications Director for Industry Standard Servers (MCD for ISS).

Anonymous FTP accounts are no longer supported on MXe Server, MCD for ISS, Multi-Instance Communications Director (MICD), and Virtual Mitel Communications Director (Virtual MCD) platforms.

The SNMP Agent in MCD is now disabled by default.

Class of Service changes:

New option, Fax Capable, separates fax functionality from Campon Tone Security which is optional (but recommended) for fax operation. Also changed "Campon Tone Security / FAX Machine” option to “Campon Tone Security”.

"ACD Logout Agent No Answer Timer" renamed to "ACD Agent No Answer Timer. See Class of Service Options.

New option, ACD Agent Behavior on No Answer, lets you select agent behavior on no answer. Select "Logout" to automatically log out agents on no answer or "Absent" to automatically make agents absent from all groups on no answer. See Class of Service Options.

New option, Backlighting_Enabled, turns off (after a configurable period of inactivity) the backlight on all MiNet 53xx series phones that have one.

New option added for single-line displays sets to display the original caller ID for calls forwarded/rerouted to the set instead of the forwarding party ID.

New option, Auto Release on Key Select, for multi-line sets disconnects the active call when the user selects another line to answer a waiting call.

System option "ACD Logout Last Agent On No Answer" renamed to "ACD Make Last Agent Unavailable on No Answer". See System Options.

A Ring Group can function as an emergency answering point and trigger an SNMP trap to notify Mitel Emergency Response Adviser (or any other application listening for the trap) whenever the group receives a call.

Auto insertion of ARS prefix digits for calls initiated from the Call History phone app is extended to the 5320, 5330, 5340 and 5360 IP Phones and to the People, and Visual Voicemail applications.

Alpha tagging is extended to associate the name string with dialed digits for outgoing calls.

Silent Monitor support added to non-prime lines.

New options in the Digital E&M Trunk Circuit Descriptors form improve Private Line Automatic Ringdown operation by

removing the need for the far end to disconnect before the trunk link is returned to idle.

increasing ringing duration on outgoing calls until either the far end answers or the ringing timer in the trunk Class of Service expires (whichever comes first).

5560 IPT enhancements:

The number of programmable keys on the 5560 IPT is increased to 192 from 96. Key/line position on the set can now be changed through the Menu key.

Calling line ID display for key system line appearances on the 5560 IPT is presented to the prime line set and the answering set. Other sets with a key appearance only show the key label while the call is ringing and after it has been answered.

The maximum number of Group Park keys per destination DN increased to 250 on the MXe Server, MCD for ISS, Multi-Instance Communications Director (MICD), and Virtual Mitel Communications Director (Virtual MCD) platforms. The maximum for other controllers is unchanged at 64.

The maximum digit string length for Customer Emergency Services IDs (CESID) increased from 10 to 12.

Digit modification for calling and called number supported on inbound calls on E1 ISDN links.

Dialed Call Pickup keys can be programmed to provide a burst of ringing on all pickup group member sets when any member of the group is called.

Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard 4.0 adds support for provisioning Hunt Groups, Call Pickup Groups, Ring Groups and External Twinning plus embedded voice mail on MCD-ISS and Unified Communicator Advanced (UCA).

Support for Call Forward Override and Supervised Transfers added to standard DSS/BLF keys and Secretrial DSS/BLF keys respectively.

A new option, Maintain Original Forward or Reroute Reason, in the new Shared System Options form, allows you to enable the system to maintain, deliver and display on the nominated party's telephone or console the original reason for forwarding or rerouting a call. The "DPNSS/QSIG Diversion Enabled" option is removed from the System Options form and is now included in the new Shared System Options form.

Software Installer Tool improvements for faster software installs and upgrades:

only new voice mail prompts files are loading during software upgrade

eliminated any unnecessary MCD reboots for offline licensing changes applied by the Software Installer.
