MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Phantom in Hunt Group

I have a 5000 linked via SIP with a non-mitel system. I have phantom extension in the mitel that forward to extensions on the other system. I can dial them just fine from the Mitel. The issue I have is when I add these phantoms to a ring group or hunt group they never ring. Any pointers?

Hi All,

Have a complicated questions that I hope I can convey... I have a 5000 system that dials out using SIP trunks. Works great.

I have a different (non-mitel) system that is connected to this system with SIP as well and we are able to call extensions from each end no problem.

What i'd like to do is be able to dial out from the non-mitel system through the mitel systems trunks. Everything thus far has failed for us. On the non-mitel system if I dial the mitel's remote SIP trunk number I get nothing. Anything would be great.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Dial Remote System Extension

Hi There,

I have a Office 250 that is linked to a few different systems (non-mitel)via SIP. I can dial into the 250 just fine.. and I can dial out of the 250 to extensions on these other systems fine too however I must dial 8 first and then dial the extension number of the remote system.. but only if I set that mitel extension to use the SIP trunk to that specific system as its outgoing extension.

Anyone have some tips on how to configure ARS? I'd also like the ability to just dial the remote extension without having to dial an 8 first.

The setup would be very simple. For the sake of this example lets say remote system is all extensions 10000-10099 and the trunk number is 92002 and I want it to only route calls to this trunk if its a 10000-10099.. all other calls would go through 92001.

Any tips would be great. Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 to 5000 Sip Quick Question

Hi There,

We currently have a 3300 that is connected to 15 5000 systems with SIP trunks.

I setup 14 of these systems about 2 years ago. Now I am working on the 15th system and am drawing a blank on one part. The sip trunk to this 15th site is up and active. I can call the 3300 from the 5000 however when dialing the main hunt group of the 5000 from the 3300 I get invalid. We have 5 digit extensions. The remote site's main hunt group would be 21700, however when I type 217 I get invalid when I get to the 7.

I have gone through almost every page in the 3300 and am missing something small I take it. Drawing a total blank.

Any tips?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Routing to Multiple Trunks

Right now on our 5000 we have ARS setup to route all outbound calls out over a SIP Gateway. We also have a backup line setup on each system in case this goes down. Right now we have them manually push the button to make those calls. How difficult would it be to configure it so that if the SIP Trunk is down to auto dial out over the first Loop Start trunk group? Is it as simple as adding that trunk group to the facility group?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 911 - Invalid Extension

Hi all,

Having issues with all are locations and dialing 911.

We use ARS to route normal phone calls out over SIP trunks located at a different facility.

We also maintain a single "backup" analog line on each 5000 system in case they loose the link connecting them to this trunk. All phone has a button labeled "backup" for this purpose. Now right now if someone needs to dial 911 they need to select this backup line and dial 911.

We are hoping to make it easier and just pickup phone and dial 911 without having to select a line.

I've checked the feature codes and 911 is setup for emergency calls. Great. When I dial 911 I get "Invalid Extension"

Any ideas?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Transfer to Hold & MOH

Hi there,

I have a 5000 system that when calls come in they come in to a call key on the phone.

Then we have setup a series of phantom extensions and set them up as secondary extensions on all the phones. When a call comes in people answer it on the call key. Then to put on "hold" they use the transfer button which we programmed to transfer to hold and they transfer to an available phantom extension, thus blinking on all phones so others can pickup without having the call transfered to them specifically... works great.

Only issue is there isnt MOH when this happens.. just a Beep... Beep... Beep.............

If they use the hold button it plays music just fine.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Right now we have a number of 5000's that make outgoing calls through a remote 3300 via SIP.  I want the outbound caller ID to reflect the DID for these remote locations instead of the primary DID for the 3300.  Inbound calls are also routed through this same 3300 and then forwarded to the 5000's using a system speed call with the sites DID.

So I go to Trunks > SIP > DID Ranges for CPN Substitution and add the 5000's range and the DID i want it to reflect and it doesnt work.

Strange thing is an old location that we rolled out a long time ago works just fine this way, just newer sites arent working right.... I am figuring there is a setting somewhere I am missing...

Any thoughts? Thansk!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 to 5000 SIP Intercom just static

Hi all,

working out some kinks.. starting to link all our remote 5000 sites up to our main 3300 site via SIP. When placing an intercom call from the 3300 to an extension on the 5000 it rings just fine on the other side however when someone picks up the 3300 side just gets really loud static and the 5000 side gets just dead air. You cannot hear anything if anyone talks either.

Any ideas?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Transfer to Voicemail

Good Morning!

Does anyone have a quick and easy set of directions on how to setup phones to transfer directly to voicemail on MCD 6? We just upgraded from 4.0 to 6.0 and this was one of the reasons. We are trying to get rid of our extensive workaround.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5000 Background noise Playback

Good Morning!

Having an issue with new 5000 install's we are doing. What happens is in noisy areas the background noise is being picked up and when you turn the volume up to hear people it also turns up the volume on that background noise that the handset mic is picking up and blasts it in your ear thus cancelling out the point of turning up the volume.

We were able to go back and forth with Mitel a few years ago regarding this identical issue and we did get it fixed at one store however years have gone by and now none of us can remember which setting it was.

Any thoughts?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 Ring Busy when Busy

Hi All,

Strange one just now pointed out (after over a year in service)... If a extension is on a call and you attempt to ring that extension it will ring instead of giving a busy tone. Is there a way to change this? I dug around in the COS options but nothing stood out. SO basically if you are on a call we want it to ring busy instead of ringing x amount of times and going to voicemail.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 Voicemail CallerID

Good morning,

Having an issue with our 3300 & onboard voicemail. The issue is getting callerID to show up correctly when checking messages. If I call an extension, let it ring through and let voicemail pick up everything is fine.

However we setup a system where if you trasnfer a call to  * and the extension number it will go directly to their voicemail box. Basically it was a phantom extension with a bunch all the * + extensions assigned to keys and then a routing rule to route to voicemail.

These calls that are transfered to voicemail only display the caller ID of the extension that sent them to voicemail. So if I transfered a call into that * + xtn it will show my name and not the caller.

I've checked all the settings in various COS's and they are all set to Display Held Call ID on Transfer.

Any thoughts?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 53xx Phones Reset

I am having a random issue. Randomly throughout the day different people's phones will reset & reboot when completing a call.  Not always the same people and seems pretty sporadic. Only seemed to notice it after moving from PRI to SIP trunks.

Anything to look at?

Maybe I am just having one of those days but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to program a key on a 5330 or 5360 phone to allow me to see another extension and whether or not they are on their line or dnd, etc. I can setup a speedkey to their extension but that doesnt give me any visibility.... probably something totally simple I am missing.
