Matt_Womack,

If the person doing the work isn't certified then you don't want them in the spot where you could find D-Channel Diagnostics; let's just stick with the simple solutions first and hope those work.

Thanks,

TE

fatman45,

The problem shouldn't be with the PRI lines since the signaling for those are done through the D-Channel and we know when those lines have been disconnected. The problem most likely is with the POTS lines as we don't have a supervised disconnect for those.

Has anyone done a Loop Loss Test and Hybrid Balance test on those lines?

Thanks,

TE

Matt_Womack,

I am not sure what a POC is, I assume your technician, but then again I am not that bright of an individual.

If the display is showing that it has grabbed the channel and dialed the number then has anyone talked to a tester from AT&T to see what the issue is?

Have you tried dialing a direct channel so that it eliminates the 5000's ARS programming as the issue?

Have you looked at the D-Channel Diagnostics to see what Cause Code was sent by the Carrier?

Thanks,

TE

Matt_Womack,

When the system was installed and the PRI was tested did they have a problem then or is this a new issue?

Have you tried changing the Call Types for International Station Calls Number Plan and Type of Number to Unknown?

What does the display of the phone show?

Thanks,

Fatman,

First of all what type of lines do you have coming into the system? Also, what have they done to fix the problem? I am sure that it can be resolved so that you don't have to do this, although it may take some extra equipment, but I will also answer your original question.

Go to Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > {mailbox} > Message Limits > Maximum Non-Subscriber Message Length: This is set to 5 minutes by default and can go down to 1 minute.

telcogirl,

Either of the two Durafon solutions I stated earlier would work for you. What you need to figure out is how many phones that you want to work independent of one another. Basically you would need an analog port per Durafon cordless phone you would need to work. Then you would need to find the Durafon solution that supports that many individual analog ports.

Then you put an Analog port to the Line port of the Durafon base and then program the Durafon base to have any calls coming into that Line port to only ring one particular Durafon associated with it. The most we have done this way was 12 Durafons which required 3 of the 4-line base systems or kits. This can get really expensive really fast, but it is the best solution for those types of environments.

I am not sure why your technicians would have a problem directing calls to ring any of the individual Durafon extensions, but then again they may not have programmed the Durafon base to have 1 line go to 1 extension before either.

I don't know how they solved the problem with the Norstar, but the 5000 does have the ability to use an ATA as well so you could just replicate their solution.

Camoron,

Are you trying to do Enhanced or just Forward and Copy? Also you can not use port 25 with smtp.gmail.com why not try port 587 [TLS] instead of 465 [SSL] if you want to use encryption? If you want to just do Forward and Copy and use port 25 then use aspmx.l.google.com.

The error 110 is what your problem is and that means that the server is not available on the port or URL you are trying to access it on.

TE,

Thanks for responding.  Will the duraphone to act like any other mitel phone?  For example can I program it to ring incoming lines?  Or, does it just act like an any other analog extension, rings only when call is transferred to that extension?

I need a solution that will allow incoming lines to ring and be answered on a cordless/wireless device.  I am starting to review Mitel IP-DECT.

I am not exactly sure that I understand your question here. The Durafon handsets are an analog device, but they attach to their base, which acts like a mini-phone system, and not directly to the 5000. So in the end you could have POTS lines go directly to the Durafon base system or you could use analog ports off the 5000 so that they have other Mitel features available to them; such as transferring to an IP or Digital phone user.

If that is not what you were asking then just let me know.

Thanks,

TE

DND ON,

I do not think your statement is very accurate on what customers are able to be taught, but to be fair and honest it can sometimes be difficult for them in the beginning.

As for DEE not being able to support remote notification I can only assume that you have not used the mobile email address function. Of course they do need to be able to get texts on their phone or that functionality is lost. I also think that remote notification can be adjusted when calling into the mailbox as the user and changing it; although the mailbox has to be setup for that.

To set up Remote Messaging:
1. Access your mailbox as the user.
2. Press 4 to select the Personal Options Menu.
3. Press 5 to select Remote Messaging.
4. Press 1 to set up a primary cascade, or press 2 to set up an alternate cascade.
5. Press 1, and then enter the number (1 to 9) of the level that you want to program. Then
select one of the following options:
To send notifications to a phone number:
• Press 2, and then select one of the following options:
- Press 1 for an extension number, and then enter the number.
- Press 2 or an outside number, and then enter the number.
To send notifications to a pager:
• Press 1.
• Press 2.
6. Press 1 to save the setting.
7. Press 3, and then select one of the following:
• Press 1 for Monday through Friday.
• Press 2 for all days.
• Press 3 to select individual days. You are prompted to press numbers 1 to 7, which
correspond to the days Sunday through Saturday.
8. Press 2. Then enter the times you want the message notification to start and stop. Enter
the times as two digits for the hour and two digits for the minutes (for example, 0900 = 9:00
A.M.). If you are entering the time in a 12-hour format:
• Press 1 for A.M.
• Press 2 for P.M.
If you want to have 24-hour notification, program the starting and ending times to the same
time (for example, enter 0900 for the starting time and 0900 for the ending time).
9. Press 4. Then select one of the following options:
• Press 1 for all messages.
• Press 2 for priority messages only.
10. Press # or hang up to save the settings and exit.

All I am saying is not to overlook an option because it may not seem like a perfect fit for the solution to a problem.

Thanks,

TE

EZEK,

You could also use the System Administration and Diagnostics [SAaD] Tool as well. Once you connect up top to the Web Interface, not DB Programming, you can then press the > key to start monitoring the system. Under the Favorites Tab there is a System Information box that has a View system logs button that you can click on. Inside the pop-up you can scroll down to Voice Mail and then you will see Avdap_log.txt(n) file that will provide you all the standard Avdap information.

telcogirl,

The Duraphone by Engenius is what we use. They will take an analog port on the DuraFon Pro or the DuraFon x1.

jbbts,

Why wouldn't you want to use Dynamic Extension and then just have them to change the Mobile Destination based on which technician is on call. This way there is only one mailbox to check and if they Unified Messaging it can be emailed to someone in Dispatch so they can make sure it was handled.

Camoron,

The mail logs are not accessed via Database Programming, but they can be accessed via the web interface or the System Administration and Diagnostics interface. The easiest way is to have the SAaD program log onto the system and then press the > button so it will download the latest information from the system. Then on the Favorites Tab you will find a System Information box that has a View System Logs button on it. Press the View System Logs button and then scroll down to find the mail logs entry and see what the system is having a problem with.

acejavelin,

You are correct, but we had agents working off both systems at the same time and the wrap-up timers were causing an issue. After re-reading your post I see that you only have them on the Axxess and not the 5000 currently.

At this point I would look at IPInstallers' solution and see if that works for you or just move them all over to the 5000.
