Dwayneg,

The latest version of software now let's you set the NTP Service again like it used to; just FYI.

Thanks,

Camoron,

There are a few ways to determine whether or not the system can access the Internet and as Acejavelin stated you can verify with the NTP service, but there is a way to do a ping from the Mitel 5000 that will tell you whether or not it can resolve the name and actually reach the destination.

If you open up an SSH connection to the system and then go to Command Prompts you can do a ping smtp.gmail.com or www.google.com and it should come back with an IP Address and whether or not it can ping it.

As for the vmail log that is the wrong log to be looking at for smtp issues. Open up your System Administration and Diagnostics tool and connect to the system. Then press the play button and use the drop down button to open up the tabs. The first tab is Favorites which should have a System Information box within it, if it doesn't you can find that box under the System Information Tab as well. At the bottom of that box you will find a View System Logs button that will show you all of the logs the system is keeping. If you scroll down that list of logs you will find one for NTP and you will also find one for mail.log which will have any SMTP error information that you would need in it.

Hopefully that gets you further along with your testing and figuring out what is going on, but if I had to guess I would say that the system doesn't have access to the Internet or the IP Settings are no longer correct for the new site.

Thanks,

TE

sespletzer,

I guess you probably haven't been working on these systems long enough to know there used to be a report function within Database Programming which has since been moved over to the System Administration and Diagnostics Reporting Tab. These are just reports and not the actual database so there is nothing to reload from it.

Sorry,

Camoron,

The MX Records on Office 365 always follow the pattern I provided so if you know their domain you have everything you need to create their root MX record.

As for fixing your issue what troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Have you looked at the mail logs to see what is going on? Have you verified the system has access to the Internet?

Thanks,

TE

sespletzer,

I was hoping that you would have come up with an answer by now, but since you haven't then there are only two options left for you to get this resolved.

1. Re-key the database since you don't have a backup.
2. Post your database to allow other users to verify it. This may still require a re-key of the database.

I believe that you are getting hung up on the PP040 aspect when looking at the OLM. The system uses certain "extensions" in the background similar to the way the numbering plan is setup. We have little to no control over those, but it seems that PP040 is still being used for Manual Forwards as it should be. As for why someone was trying to create a CO Trunk Group with PP040 that would be a mystery as they would have had to turn on OLM in order to assign that as the extension of a CO Trunk Group; this would be an intentional corruption of the database which will most likely not show up on a DB Test.

Thanks,

jdfoxmicro,

You have a 3300 CXII which is not anything like the 5000, basically you are in the wrong part of the forums, and therefore you don't have Avdap logs.

Jaybanc,

Without getting into it there isn't another way to clear the database out. If that password didn't work then the software started off as an older version. I do have the earlier default passwords as well.

TYTEL,

I was going to say that same thing as dwayneg as it would be best to upgrade the system and get all the other features opened up as well.

Camoron,

Well, there are a few guides on setting it up, but since I don't know the version of Exchange that you are attaching to then I can't direct you to the right solution. So here is what we will do. Look for this document and follow it for setting up the gateway and preparing for UM.

(609028361) UVM E-Mail Synchronization Administrator Guide

Now, anytime that you see Office 365 that would be the same as Exchange since they are the same product line. There is also a KB that is labeled as "Setting up Exchange 2013 to work with the Mitel 5000 for Unified Messaging" which should also help.

Hopefully that points you in the right direction, but if you need to learn how to troubleshoot it better there are other things that you can do as well.

Camoron,

Mitel has documentation on what is required to be setup on both the 5000 and the Exchange Server.

Camoron,

What type of Email Server do they have? If it is Exchange then it will need to be setup as IMAP for Enhanced Integration.

Have you set this up according to the documentation provided by Mitel?

I sent you a password to try in your email. Please do not post it on the forums if it doesn't work for you.

jaybanc,

That is an old version of software, where did you buy this system? What you heard is correct in that the version of database programming software has to match the version of software that you are running; so in your case you would need version 3.2.4 to be able to get into it. The problem that I see is that you probably don't know what the password is or how to program it if it is default.

Thanks,

TE

Chuck,

So if I am understanding this correctly the site that is providing the message, "You have reached an invalid extension", is the one that doesn't have the Mailboxes, but it does have some sort of Call Routing Announcement or Auto Attendant and someone is trying to dial an extension from it; is that correct?

If that is the case then you most likely just need to create an Extension ID on the system without mailboxes for those that do not have them and it should solve your problem.

Ralph,

As I was tearing through the OS of the 5000 I noticed this is the syslog they use within it.

http://www.rsyslog.com/

If it is good enough for the 5000 then it can't be too bad.

Thanks,

TE
