Hello folks!

I have a clustered client who currently has a CXII at one of their sites. It is getting weirdly flaky (i believe something happened physically to the Ethernet port in this box). The client has stock equipment... of which - a "spare" MXeIII. This site does have t1 trunking.
So here's my question...
Can I save the db of the CXII, and replace the hardware with the MXeIII controller? IS THERE A DATABASE CONVERTER type tool? Or will the DB work for both? I understand that their have to be AMC changes, but for the hardware... how do i make the database compatible between the two?
Please help!
Note: the platforms are both on 9.1 SP1 Mitel 3300.

Hello all!
I am posting to see if anyone else has the same issue that i am experiencing.
55+ site cluster.
Started the 9.1 migration, and now all of my MXE-III servers are blasting a "E2T comms alarm". Was I supposed to do something special for these?
The software is the same for both CXII and MXE. I also ran the "Upgradebootrom All" command. Issues have begun with calling/audio issues/admin group alarms etc.
Please advise! :)

Thanks

Question:

Is there a way to set/flag/un-flag an extension to ONLY ALLOW vmail messages to be left from INTERNAL calls (on a mivo 250/mitel 5000)?

Example: I call a business, it rings the receptionist (3 rings), forwards to group of phones (2 more rings), then reaches AA....
If someone puts in the extension X222 --> Collected digits ring 222. I don't want to turn off the vmail all together, but I want to make it so outside callers cannot REACH this phones vmail.

I know that if i set to "private extension/mailbox" they cannot use the Directory find-by-entry... features, but there has to be another way?

Please school me!  8)

Hello all!

I am at a hotel, and they would LOVE to be able to pull the call into a phone at a back office if it is ringing at a console (front desk). I don't believe that this is possible, but would like some suggestions.
The Main number inbound goes to their AA Multi level which provides options. If they press 0, or do not pick an option they are forwarded to Extension 1000. Extension 1000 is a "Softkey Appearance" on their console phones (5540IP). The office manager wants the ability to take this call on her phone (6930IP) if the front desk is busy/helping folks/but still present.

I was going to build a first alternative rollover in the routing, to ring a group at the back desks, and have that point back to the desk. This option is NULL at this point. The manager insists that they needs to "reverse transfer" the call to the office phone.
Console 5540 IP phones wont allow the softkey 1000 (or what the extension is) to be reversed in a Pickup Group/Hunt group/Pers Ring Group at all.
I'm thinking that in this arrangement, it is not possible.

Google has failed me. The manual doesn't discuss details, so HERE I am.

Thanks in advance!!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000 Paging...Tone?
« on: August 22, 2018, 08:30:40 AM »
I have a client who has hearing issues, and about has an accident everytime someone pages over the system. His hearing aids are turned up!
He has requested that we see if a PRECURSOR TONE will go to the deskset (Mitel 5330 IP set) speaker prior to the page being broadcast.
Does MITEL do this? Where would I find this? I have wracked my brain a couple times... and cannot find it. It is probably a Captain Obvious thing, so you know how that goes!

Thanks in advance!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Play Canned Messages over PAGING? Ideas?
« on: January 16, 2018, 03:03:22 PM »
We have a client who wants to play "canned" (pre-recorded) messages over their paging port.
I.e., "there is a fire... or shooter in the building, etc..."

They want to be able to dial in/press a paging key on their phones (8568/8528 digital), and have the system open paging, play a canned message etc...
I am baffled.
I can build a button/key to open paging, but for the system to then play a message, it doesn't add up.
system is MiVO 250/5000 on 6.2.2.13, and the phones are 8568/8528s.

Please help!

Does anyone have a copy of the 5_1_0_46 mitel 5000 dbp Plugin for a pc?
I have 5_0_4_70, 5_1_0_40, and then 6_0_9_57...
Have a new client and would like to access and update rather than rebuild.
Please help if you can!

Hey all,
The issue has returned... and I ensure that all Secondary elements were set, as well as syncing to ALL sites, etc.

Details:

I work on a 55 site cluster, with VMCD brain, and have an issue that I cannot wrap my head around.

When the client reboots their VMCD on Wednesday night, many folks come in on Thursday morning to their IP PHONES displaying "press hold to send pin". I have verified that these users (all on different locals) have secondary elements setup in the vmcd programming.
I am unsure where to look first to start isolation on this. Our company doesn't maintain their network, and they have setup their own IP helper on their network. Their system is on 7.0...
About a year and a half ago, we showed them how to build simple users and MaC work, since they have an IT dept of 8 people and we service over 4000 users at their sites.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Please give me a little guidance... I know that the main telephony/it person says that these phones that he has built, some do this every time, some are intermittent, and above all, he has built other users that are not affected at all by this.

Please help!

Hello All!

I am working with a 56 site cluster, on which about 3900+ users are serviced...
Release 7.0 PR1, 13.0.0.83...

Here's the skinny,
A handful of phones (roughly 40-50) that have been recently added to the system are experiencing a strange occurance.
When the scheduled reboot (Wednesday evenings) happens, these 40 some phones do not talk to the Vmcd, and reacquire their pinned data. They just show "press hold to send pin". I have secondary elements set in each users programming, AND the client has IP helper setup to connect all of the sites together.
This issue just started recently...
Is there a glitch/bug that is known to cause this? Is there an actual threshold where the system gets weird with talking to the phones and the virtual? These phones are scattered among quite a few sites,  where the other phones at that site are having NO other issues.
Next stop calling Mitel, and getting some guidance, but would love for some insight prior,

Scratchin' my head, awaiting some guidance from you superstars!
Please advise if ya can,
Geno

So, I have 6.1.46 software on this MiVoiceOffice 250/Mitel5000...

I found that to do a CRA "collected extensions" option to get to a phone that has NO vmail box, and have it NOT say "invalid extension" I had to build a "EXTENSION ID" for said phone, to make it route to the phone.

MY QUESTION is... how do I have it ring 4-5 times, and NOT get the voice processor advising "if you would like to leave a message, please enter a mailbox number"
I have prompts and announce turned off.

Is this just a Mitel-ism... or is this software glitchy?
I did reboots and everything else.

Thanks in advance!

Hey folks!

Has anyone had a client who wanted to be able to extension to extension dial normally (i.e. pick up the set, dial someones extension (or press a speed call key)) and have it ring the destination, BUT ALSO be able to use a code/feature to be able to call from one extension to another over the speaker/intercom?

Any ideas on how to be able to use both on the fly? Without changing the entire systems way of operation?

Mitel MiVoice Office 250, 6.2.2.13, Digital phones 8568.

Please let me know! Any help is appreciated

I have a Mitel 5000 (MiVOff250) 6.0.11.98
This system is licensed for multiple phones, ip and sip etc.
I have 3 5610 Sip DECT cordless phones at this customer.
I have 2 of these sip dect phones in a hunt group with 1 IP (5320) phone.
When calling said DID, which is pointed to hunt group, the 5320 rings. The SIP Dects DO NOT.

They are currently in a "Phone" extension list. I have tried placing them into the members individually, and as a hunt group extension list, as well as a phone extension list. NONE of these options make the cordless phones ring.

If I pick up the 5610 of choice #1 or #2, and call one of the IP phones on site, it rings through just fine and the 5320 that i call, shows the call coming from the 5610 Extension. When I call the 5610 from the desk phone (5320) is shows "set unplugged" on the display?

If I point the DID directly to one of the SIP Dect and call the DID the caller hears ringing, but the phone does NOT ring.

Please help! :)

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Personal Ring Group uses???
« on: September 03, 2015, 04:13:48 PM »
I am working on a school that wants their Main Cooks line (5330 IP phone) to ring her Extension 7XXXX as well as a Viking horn. The amp/horn are in place, and they are currently built to an analog extension 1xxxx on the MCD Analog ONS port.

Can I just use her extension 7XXXX (already built for her personally) as the Personal Hunt group number, and just add the 1XXXX speaker to the members to make them both ring simultaneously?

+ for bonus points... Does this require a license if it is built locally on the MCD where the analog is built?

Thanks in advance,
G

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / ACD Supervisor Setup?
« on: June 30, 2015, 03:48:10 PM »
Hey all,
I am still green to the 3300, but wanted to see if someone could help me out.
I am using acd express groups, and have a couple users who are to be in more than one group. I read on here, that these users can NOT have a queue status (generic alert) for more than one group, BUT, an acd supervisor.

My question is:
How do you change the acd express agent from just an agent to a supervisor? Is there a limit on how many you can make supervisor? and... Does it require a license to make a normal user a supervisor...

I.E., I have two agents that need to see queue status for 2 separate groups. Was just wanting insight on a work around that would allow for both of these individuals to be able to see more than one queue status, with what I am assuming would be specific group alert option on the keys tab.

Please help,
Gene :o

I am currently working on an upgrade to one of my clients. They have 1 (one) Mitel5000 6.0.11.98, and are using multiple IP phones over 4 separate static IP networks on their site. I have all of the IP phones 5320 and 5330's NAT'ing to the system. All of them work fine. I installed 3 5610 SIP dect cordlesses at one of the locations. I get the "full moon" and such. BUT, during 21 separate test calls only 1 of them had two way audio (call #18).

My first question is: Does SIP require different ports opened to pass audio, other than the ports required for normal IP phones? If so what are they?

My second question is: With DMZ set at the firewall where the system resides, the audio is still one way, unless we change the ip scheme at the sip dect location. (i.e. the system ip location scheme is 192.168.1.XXX and so is the location of the SIP dect; to make the SIP dect phones work, we have to change the location where they sit to 192.168.2.XXX). Is there any other work around for this?

Please advise?
Thanks in advance!!
