Good afternoon :)
I am new to the forum so wanted to say hello before I reached out with my questions. We recently took over a business that has over 100 Mitel phones (MITEL 5320/5330/5340). The company that manages that phone system is telling us its EOL so instead of upgrading we are going to add this new business into our Cisco Call Manager and Unity. My thoughts are just to go ahead and buy Cisco phones for this facility but our CIO thinks other wise. They want to know if we can get these Mitel phones working via SIP on our CUCM. From what i've looked up, I can't find much information on these models. I've been tinkering with the config but it will not register.
Any thoughts/Ideas? Thanks!

Well, EOL only means that you cannot buy new 53xx phones... you can certainly buy newer Mitel phones in the 69xx series but the 53xx phones still work fine (and I have even older 52xx and, gasp, the original 5010/5020 phones from 20 years ago that still work with the latest MiVB call server).

We want to move them to our main CUCM. We were just wondering if we had to buy Cisco phones or if we could use their existing Mitel models.

as long as you don't upgrade them past the version where the web interface for sip was disabled, you can use them as generic sip phones, assuming cisco handles that (i assume it does). If you have upgraded past that, then you need to downgrade and that's posted elsewhere.

Was able to get the phone setup as a basic sip phone but no options in the interface to configure anything else. It can make and receive calls but cannot transfer etc.
The web interface only has one page with simple options for server ip's and sip account.

its always been my experience that the phones work best when they are matched to the Pabx
3rd party sip phones arent great on mitel , i suspect the same will be for cisco ( changing 53xx to sip mode)
pain to setup - poor feature set , hard to maintain , unhappy end users
get a phone that is proven to work with a known set of limitations and life is much easier for all
