MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Program extra outbound route
« on: July 14, 2017, 04:49:45 PM »
I just tested the trunk access method and I disagree with DND ON on this one (maybe that's a first!).  I put both my trunk groups in my LOCAL facility and tested, call went out first group.  Removed my phone from OUTGOING on the first trunk group, ARS skipped over first group and used second.  Verified by observing SMDR.
So put all trunk groups in each facility group, control which group is used by the OUTGOING ACCESS list for each group.  ARS will search trunk list until it finds one you have access to.

No need for separate ARS...set up existing facility groups to use BOTH trunk groups, but go into both trunk groups themselves and modify the OUTGOING ACCESS list to include only those phones that TG is allowed to use.  Don't put those ext in list for main TG (if there is one)

Ericmenesses, be sure in the system forward list that the DND path is above the immediate path...it searches top-down for a match.

MiVoice 250 does not do fax to email unless you add the very costly external voice mail product.  Best bet is a small fax server, Multitech Fax Finder is a good choice @ about $600 and up, sold a bunch of these.  If you're using loop start lines you can plug them right in.  If you're using PRI break the fax finder out on SL ports.

No. Reporter is not aware of conference codes.  Plus real time doesn't display outside numbers.  You could use HISTORICAL and filter for bridge number but you won't see a record until conference ends.

21
That's usually a function of the conference bridge.  Are they using the built-in MEET ME CONFERENCE, the Mitel conference bridge, or one from someone else?
If you're using the built-in there's actually a "real time" CONFERENCE report under the CALL ACTIVITY tab of SYSTEM ADMIN & DIAGNOSTICS.  My experience is that it is slow to refresh, but you can click on TOOLS icon and force a refresh.
Other applications will have much richer reporting, including historical.

You can turn it off for all from within database programming.  Go to SYSTEM/PHONE RELATED INFO/FLAGS and you'll see a list of features but BACKGROUND MUSIC isn't there.  Click on VIEW at the top left of screen.  Click on ONLINE MONITOR.  You'll see warning, but you're only going to touch the music so ignore it.  When you turn on ONLINE MONITOR you'll see the feature BACKGROUND MUSIC...remove all users from the list.  Turn off ONLINE MONITOR.

Try changing that LOCAL 7/10 digit dialing to NO.  I know it's counterintuitive but that's what has worked for me.  Can you dial local number as 10 digits from a phone okay?  Is your OUTGOING at the station 97000 (ARS), not 92001 (default trunk group).  Take a look at the ROUTE GROUPS and FACILITY GROUPS in NUMBERING PLAN, make sure local ROUTE GROUP includes both NXXXXXX and <Local Area Code>XXXXXXX. and that local FACILITY GROUP includes ECHO AREA CODE as first rule, then ECHO LOCAL ADDRESS (or could use ADD <local area code> as first rule, then ECHO LOCAL ADDRESS instead).

24
How about your SYSTEM/NUMBERING PLAN/AREA FLAGS?  We can use 7 or 10 digit local, so my flags are set to YES for OFFICE CODES AS AREA CODES and AREA CODES AS OFFICE CODES, other 3 are NO.

Default for no message left is ON.  The idea is that you get notified of hangups even if you're out of the office via e-mail or remote messaging, whereas call logs only appear on your phone.  Lots of my clients turn this on for sales but off for others.

Most common thing I see described this way is if station 1180 is leaving a call-back message for 1762 by mistake.  Does the display say message from 1180 or VMail from 1180.  People sometimes stumble into leaving a call back message at another station, which basically tells that station to call him back.  Dialing feature code 368 at sta 1762 should cancel the message.

27
Actually a designed feature!!! Say you're a salesman...how great is it to know a prospect called but didn't leave a message?  But to turn it off go into database programming, then VOICE PROCESSOR/DEVICES/MAILBOXES/<YOUR MAILBOX> and turn off DELIVER HANGUP MESSAGES.

I think DND ON is right, here's an easy check: put the DID back into your system (shouldn't make a difference for most calls, since carrier is not sending those calls to you).  Point the DID to a specific extension.  Call the number, see where it goes.  If it goes to the ext you set, you know the call is leaving you but YOUR carrier is still sending the calls to you, not the outside destination.  Calls are routed based on a translation table at the carriers and I've often seen it take days for changes to roll out to all carriers.  Surprisingly the most problems with this are within a carrier, have seen lots of folks who could call numbers from other carriers fine but couldn't call numbers within the same carrier.

First thing I'd try would be  swapping out two phones without changing any programming.  If problem stays at the physical location it's a weird network issue (don't know what might be in the network) and IT can work on it.  If problem moves with the phone extension it could be phone instrument or extension programming.  Unlikely phone is bad but you could check by swapping MAC in programming for extensions, see if problem stays with extension or stays with instrument.  More likely something is wrong with extension programming.  You can search for the error.  You can copy/paste from a working extension. Or I'd probably put a dummy MAC in existing bad extension, create a brand new extension and attach the MAC of problem phone and test.  If it works I'd consider just fixing my test extension to be this guy's extension.

« on: April 25, 2017, 08:11:01 PM »
Any reason not to use ARS?  That would allow you to put both your PRI and SIP trunks in the facility groups for now, then remove the PRI later.
Regardless, you'll find the outgoing trunk group in SYSTEM/DEVICES AND FEATURE CODES/<ext no.>/ASSOCIATED EXTENSIONS/OUTGOING.  You'll find the trunk group pilot number here (92000 would be ARS, by the way).  Fix one phone, then when the list of phones is in the right pane right-click on the fixed phone. Then click on the first other phone, shift-click on the last phone to highlight the whole list.  Right-click on one of them, choose PASTE.  Clear all the choices except OUTGOING and complete the paste.
