Title: Mitel UCE - UCA Hidden Files
Post by: ralph on June 22, 2012, 10:34:54 AM
I have a customer using UCE that when we loaded the software it was loaded with incorrect options.  If you uninstall it, it retains the incorrect options.

I know there hare some hidden files somewhere but for the life of me I can't remember where they are.
Does anyone remember?

In Vista/Win7 it is either in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mitel or C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mitel

But I think what you are looking for is in the Registry... unfortunately I don't have UCE installed right now and can't find the correct key, best to search the registry for Mitel, UCE, or a piece of the invalid data (bad IP or whatever).

So the next problem with this install is that the setup screen (the one where you put in the IP address) is too garbled to use.   You can't click the fields to input anything.    Played with scree resolution but it didn't help.

Can you think of anything that would cause this?

Weird... assuming the resolution is correct, then I would check the font size, in Windows 7 it is under Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display, make sure it is set to Smaller - 100% (default), that can mess up not only installer but the client as well if it is set to anything else. Can also make sure they don't have anything set in "Set custom text size (DPI)", it should be set to 100%.
