Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / EX root security certificate
« on: July 22, 2020, 06:15:04 AM »
Hi

Can anyone please confirm. Does the EX need the new Mitel root certificate. The EX is currently on MiVb 9.0 SP 2

The Mitel document does not show the EX in the list of controllers that need the new cert.

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Help with Toll Fraud and SMDR
« on: July 16, 2014, 07:59:39 AM »
Hi all

We may have an issue with calls made to Ethiopia. Embedded VM did have access to PSTN and COR was not applied. The system has been administered by the company IT dept. I have since locked down all VM ports so now there is no access to PSTN what so ever via the VM ports

Can anyone who is better versed at reading SMDR please advise.

4400 is menu mode with the following options associated

1 4410
2 4440
3 4450
4 2301

VM options was set to not allow digit 9

Hi

Been a while since I worked on one of these but we have been asked to make some programming changes but have no idea what the username and passwords are. I have tried all of the defaults system , installer , Maint 1 and Maint 2 but no joy.

I am pretty sure that there is no other way to deal with this other than to try and get a data backup default the system to gain access to CDE and restore the data. I assume that the usernames and passwords will not be restored but not sure.

I am going to trawl through documentation to remind me how to take a backup and restore and cross my fingers !!

Any pitfalls to doing this or any suggestions to reset passwords ?

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / IP Networking VPN or Internet
« on: February 23, 2011, 06:15:43 AM »
Hi

I have a customer who has two 3300MXe controllers on MCD 4.1

One in the UK and the other in Asia. We have IP Networking licences on both and want to configure IP Networking. My experience of LAN/WAN networking is not great although I have set up IP Networking over a VPN never have via Internet.

Some network admins have suggested that the overhead on the VPN is high resulting in less bandwidth. Although I think that configuring IP Networking over a VPN will be less complicated for me and the customer. The customer wants to route the traffic over an Internet connection rather than use a VPN. I have no idea how they will configure the routing but would like to understand how this might be done and or the pitfalls of doing so.

Any advice is appreciated.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Multicall number and MSG lamps
« on: February 03, 2011, 08:36:37 AM »
Hi all

3300 on MCD 4.1

I have a customer who has a hunt group with call rerouting first alt to a multicall number that is not associated with any device and appears on several sets as an overflow if all hunt group members are not available.

The multicalls are associated with a mailbox and they in turn have first alt to voice mail.

So as a result of this when a msg is left the embedded VM lights up the msg lamp of the phone that has the first appearance of the multicall.

Several phones have a button for msg waiting for another ext for the multicall number.

The problem is that if a user listens to the msg via this button the VM does not turn off the msg lamp on the of the phone that has the first appearance of the multicall and the user gets there are no messages.

Does anyone have a suggestion or work around

Thanks

Hi All

Anyone been able to do this ? When folling the instructions below I get " extension number already in use" or something to that effect.

The instructions below are from MCD 4.1 Resiliency guidelines

And the user was not logged in when attempting the change.

When you convert an agent, you must enter the ACD agent ID of an existing agent in the
Number field in the User Configuration Assignment form.
1. Ensure that the agent is logged out. You cannot convert an agent that is logged into the
system.
2. Log into the System Administration Tool of the primary controller.
3. Access the User Configuration form. Click Add.
4. Either leave the Name fields blank or complete the Name fields for the agent:
- If you leave the Name fields blank, the system does NOT create a new entry in
Telephone Directory Assignment, a new user profile, or a new voice mailbox for the
agent.
- If you complete the Name fields, the system creates a new entry in the Telephone
Directory Assignment form, a new user profile, and a new voice mailbox for the agent.
5. Enter the Agent ID of the existing traditional ACD agent in the Number field.
6. Leave the Device Type set to No Device.
7. Set the User Type field to ACD Agent.
8. Configure the hot desk ACD agent

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MBG Heartbeats
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:59:01 AM »
Hi all

Can anyone assist. I have a MBG in server only mode in a DMZ connected to a 3300 MXe11 on 4.1.

To cut a long story short I am getting a lot of delayed or missed heartbeats from remote Teleworker sets. "Mitel sets" from all remote sites. As a result I believe the sets are taken out of service after three missing heartbeats. I can see this in the 3300 logs and in the MBG tug logs.

I want to run wireshark to look for the heartbeats.

Not being a network Engineer I am not sure what I should be looking for. I have had a good look around and I believe the heartbeats are either Minet or SUDP and if so what port ?.

Thanks in advance

PS

MBG site has a  4Mb DSL un-contended link to the Internet.

It peaks at about 3.5 for short periods bit generally sits at 1.5
