Hi,
I have a user who has two numbers (local numbers so that to the outside world the user appears local to each site) who wants to be able to answer her calls at either site.
The phones are currently configured as follows
SWITCH1 -> Extension 1234
SWITCH2 -> Extension 5678
Is it possible to configure extension 1234 to have a button on it to answer 5678 (and show voicemail?)
Thanks

Are the 2 sites in a cluster?
If so you may be able to use hotdesking so that the user can login to either site. This way the messages and all programming will follow.
Then set a speed call for each local number to the hotdesk user.

Only if the sites are linked (clustered). You could then use a multicall key on each oif the phones to mirror the none prime extension. So 1234 would have a multicall for 5678 and vice versa. Also set a voicemail key if its needed (I have a sneaking suspicion that if a multicall has a voicemail then the multicall key slow blinks to show a voicemail; can't be sure though). It may be possible if the sites are networked with SIP trunks as well but that would take a bit more thinking about....

You would have to set a 'Message Waiting Indicator' button for the multicall to get visual voicemail notification.
Then again there is always voicemail to email ;)

Hi,
The switches are in a cluster.
I have tried adding 1234 as a key on 5678 but get the error (when applying) "The directory number cannot be configured as a key appearance because it has been already programmed in a remote node." Do I need to put both numbers on one controller first?
Thanks

Don't think multicalls work across a cluster.
You may be able to get away with setting it as a DSS/BLF instead. It will function a little differently but there will be an indication and an audible ring if programmed.

as sarond suggest, this looks like a perfect fit for hot desking.
The user simply logs into what ever phone he's sitting at.

Thanks all I got it working using a DSS/BLF key and voicemail to email. Hotdesking would be great but a bit of a faff really with the 5312 handsets?
