Title: Scheduled FTP Backup failure
Post by: wezza on July 04, 2013, 05:04:16 AM
Hi,

I have a problem backing up one of our 3300 controllers to our FTP server.
Active Software Load:     12.0.1.24
Platform:                          MXe, 512MB

I have multiple controllers all backing up to the same FTP with the same FTP authentication details and they all work, however this one controller fails when attempting to login to the FTP server.

FileZilla log:-
(000139) 7/4/2013 10:34:24 AM - (not logged in) (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)> Connected, sending welcome message...
(000139) 7/4/2013 10:34:24 AM - (not logged in) (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)> 220 FileZilla Server version 0.9.33 beta
(000139) 7/4/2013 10:34:24 AM - (not logged in) (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)> could not send reply, disconnected.

I have created multiple FileZilla logins and home directories, confirming write attributes etc to test, all with the same result.

The error logs from the Mitel:-
Software   4900   Error   2013/Jul/04   10:40:23   com.mitel.esmgmt.app.backuprestore.BackupRestoreM anager   Could not put the backup file to FTP server: 192.168.201.99
Software   4899   Warning   2013/Jul/04   10:40:23   com.mitel.esmgmt.ftpclientutils.FTPUtil   FTP: failed to start client. Check IP address or Port.
Software   4898   Warning   2013/Jul/04   10:40:23   com.mitel.esmgmt.ftpclientutils.FTPUtil   connect timed out

Any ideas or suggestions before I log a ticket with TechCentral?

Kind Regards

Westley

Could be a problem with passive vs active transfers being allowed from that subnet/site?

It was a routing problem with regards to reverse traffic. The network guys fixed it for me.
Thanks for the assist.
