Title: TELNET console
Post by: GrahamL on April 05, 2013, 07:33:54 AM
Hi all,

Is there a shutdown command from the telnet console on a MITEL 3300?

If so, is it safe to use?

Cheers

Graham

In the TRUE telnet console (Port 23, not port 2002)? Sure, just issue Shutdown the same as a maintenance command, most maintenance commands work as normal from there.

Cheers Ace, what is the 2002 port used for and can I/can't I execute a shutdown from there?

Here's the reference article for shutting down a 3300  www.mitelforums.com/articles/3300/Mitel-3300-shutdown-proceedures.php (http://www.mitelforums.com/articles/3300/Mitel-3300-shutdown-proceedures.php)

The 2002 port is directly into the controllers OS command line interface, like via the serial port on the front of the chassis. Avoid doing anything there unless you know exactly what you are doing since incorrect use can severely cripple or halt operation of the system if used incorrectly. I would imagine a shutdown is possible from that prompt, however I do not know the procedure.

EDIT: Nevermind... see Ralph's link above, should be what you need.
