Hi all,
Had a read through other posts regarding backup issues on older 3300 software however i'm still having an issue.
This particular controller is on 4.2 SP2, whatever I have tried I cant get a backup to work from a Windows 7 machine. Unable to use FTP backup as its on an isolated network with no internet access.
Does anyone have a copy of Java 2 SE v1.6.0_01 please? I cant find it anywhere on the internet...
Thanks
Also might be worth me mentioning that ive done all the normal, compat view, trusted sites in IE when doing the backup.

Martin,
Have you looked on Oracles Archive to find it there?
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/archive-139210.html (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/archive-139210.html)
Thanks,

Yeah, looked there thanks though. There's no SE 2 v1.06.
That specific version of Java that the controller wants seems to have disappeared from the internet!
-
Martin,
If I remember correctly that would be the same as Java SE 6 as the naming convention changed after J2SE 1.4 which meant that 1.5 is actually SE 5 and 1.6 is SE 6.
Thanks,

the backup button is greyed out?
otherwise try to hold down Ctrl during backup.
if it does not work I will give you another procedure

I just worked on a V9 system and used oldversion java 6.37 using virtual XP mode and IE8. Dod a backup and uploaded a MOH file without issue. Don't remember the IE version requirements for 4.2 though

There was an old issue that affected MCD versions 4.0 - 4.0.

I'll PM you with the article.

Try using the Mitel Software installer tool to do your backups. Chose full install and it will end up taking you to a page where you can deselect everything but the backup. See attached screenshot. You may need a software you could actually install (newer than the current system) but it wont install it it just checks.

Add the IP address of the controller as trusted in your Java settings. Then login again and try to backup again. Make sure you use https in Java.

Java sucks, if backup is failing to download, try to connect to the ICP via FTP (same login as to ESM), download the ftp:/<icp_ip>/vmail/temp/db/archive/Ipera3k.dba and then rename it to backup.tar.
You can also run Windows XP/7 (virtualized) and try to access the ESM from there.

Hi peter
Ipera3K.dba it is the backup of the day ?
-
Hi sunpark, I don't think so, but is the latest backup that has been made. You can also do backups (manually or schedule) on external FTP server, if it is impossible to manually. Look at the Ipera3k.dba file if the file is more recent then.
-
You can also do backups from the software installer (well you used to be able to).

Thank u guys

There's a KB on this, I think Ralph referred to it. There's an updated "jwi_retest" file that you need to FTP upload to the controller, then you should be good with any version of Java.
