Introduction and Announcements / Mitel price increases?
« on: November 10, 2014, 02:32:36 PM »
Apologies if this isn't the right subforum...but has anyone else had a sticker-shock on recent Mitel quotes?  My PBX vendor just quoted me some endpoint licenses at over 70% increase from what we've paid over the last few months.  Says there was a  list prc increase from Mitel last week.

Maybe this is to help offset the increased stock offer for Shoretel buyout....    >:(

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Method to kill a process on 5000CS?
« on: September 04, 2014, 02:38:12 PM »
Hi all - I've got a few runaway processes using up tons of CPU, and I can't figure out how to kill them.  Using the "top" command via the ssh utility in sysadmin&diag, I can see there's 2 processes "avdap" and "perl" using anywhere from 60% to 90% cpu resources.  This corresponds to the messages I'm seeing in the avdap_log.txt file, which has hundreds of lines saying over and over:

"EMAILDLV]VPIM: Read empty line in attachment area"

I think the problem is related to the voicemail > email synchronization that we have turned on.  It's like the system is continuously trying to convert a waiting voicemail into email attachment, and getting hung up.  This problem persists even after a full system restart.

Now, normally when using the top command, you should be able to kill a process by typing "k", identifying the PID, and confirming Yes.  If I try that, the prompt just says FAILED, operation not permitted.  Any ideas?

I have a single hunt group set up for our main incoming traffic, and the only member of that group is a Hunt Group Extension List, containing various endpoints.  This is to allow that "ring all phones at once" behavior.  The problem is that one of the members in that list doesn't receive any calls.

Here is the breakdown of the list:

- 5 local digital endpoints
- 1 offnode IP phone endpoint 5330
- 1 offnode IP softphone 8602

The member not getting calls is that offnode softphone.  I can't figure out why it's not ringing - it's on the same remote node as the 5330, and the 5330 gets calls just fine.

Hello all - my company is running a 5000 CP with mostly digital endpoints but we have 4 softphone users.  They're running the old 8602 software client.  I was in need of a few more licenses, but my vendor told me that the associated license "category B" was EOL?  Didn't get any details beyond that.

Is there a newer method for software-only users to connect?
