Title: Fax Server for SMB
Post by: Hershel on August 21, 2015, 07:30:50 PM
What are other 5000 dealers doing for a Fax Server solution?  In the past I have done some stuff with FaxBack but I am looking to evaluate offerings to add to our solutions.

Looking for:
 - receive incoming faxes via email
 - send faxes via email, web portal or plug-in
 - use either POTs lines or SIP

I did a search and didn't really find anything, I know this isn't really the ideal section but since I am looking for a SMB offering I figured the 5000 community would offer the best suggestions.

I always use the Multitech fax serever.  Works well, good price point.

Same here, the Multitech Fax servers are great, the price is reasonable and they come in whatever size you need.

Ditto that on the Multitech FaxFinder with 5000/HX and 3300's here.

If you're trying to send multiple DIDs to fax server and decode to multiple email addresses you'll need a little magic.  Add the license for "Analog Voice Mail", and create a HG for inbound faxing.  Flag the HG as VOICE MAIL.  Then create a phantom ext for each DID, with ext number = destination fax mail box.  Use SYS FWD to send all these phantom ext to the fax HG.  When fax server answers the 5000 will send DTMF matching phantom ext, so fax server knows who message is for.

If you are looking for faxfinder tech notes for the 5000, google inter-tel instead. I would also recommend it. Easy setup and they work like a charm.
