Title: Dial By Name has No Greeting
Post by: 619Tech on June 02, 2014, 11:29:18 AM
NuPoint 15.0.0.37.01 on MAS 4.0

Customer wants to implement Dial By Name Directory. Created MB with FCOS 292 & made it a Dial By Name Call Flow. It answers and will transfer me to the correct extension/name, but there is no audio prompt/greeting until the transfer begins and I hear ringing. Tore down & rebuilt, restarted NuPoint svcs, still no greeting. I just did this on a new install last week and am baffled. What am I missing???

Update: Deleted & rebuilt MB; setup MB like normal user (PW, Greeting, & Dir Name). Inbound test calls go to MB, and I can leave/retrieve msgs in it (I can hear greetings & msgs). I then went into call flow and made New Call go to Dial-By-Name. I still hear dead air when test calling this MB as a Dial-By-Name. There is no place to record/upload greetings in Dial-By-Name Properties.

Wish I could help, but I've never done it that way.

I've always had it as a choice off of a Call Director Menu tree.

bluewhite4 - That is how I started out and discovered the issue. I have a Call Director front ending all inbound calls. When I bulit the DBN, I heard no audio, so as a temp they are now transfered to VM and press 9 to get the Directory. Then they are transfered to the MB without ring the phone first. I cannot get prompted from the DBN, even though it works (xfrs to ext).

Now I have a DBN MB with a DID pointed straight to it for testing.

Issue resolved!

It was a bug in that version. Work around: In the call flow, set language to English instead of leaving it at default.
