SIP On Mitel / Using MITEL 5340 in SIP mode on MSTeams
« on: November 13, 2023, 07:13:02 AM »
Hi all,

We're running a pretty big MITEL estate, with lots of 53xx handsets.

I was wondering if anyone had tried using a 53xx in SIP mode to connect to MSTeams Phone System?

We're hopefully migrating to MSTeams Phone System but will have the need for a few handsets in reception areas etc an d I didn't really want to buy new hardware.

Is it a non-starter ?

Kind Regs,
Rob.

One is a HG and menu node
The other is an RG and extension mailbox

so, no COS programmed...

Should RGs & HGs both get the out of hours option ?

Hi,

DDI numbers might be programmed under:

SYSYEM PROPERTIES - SYSTEM FEATURE SETTINGS - SYSTEM SPEED CALLS (ISDN 2/30)

OR

CALL ROUTING - CALL HANDLING - DIRECT INWARD DAILING SERVICE (SIP)

If the extn matches the DDI digits sent it'll just work, or is a bit more complicated to tweak, please advise if this is the case

Hi all,

Probably something really silly I've missed, but some of my mailboxes allow the users to record an out of hours message in option 8 option 4, some then get 1 to record message for in hours and 2 for out of hours, others don't get the choice...

I guess this is a mailbox setting, but I can't find the ****** thing !!!

Any help greatly appreciated

R.

OK, that got me thinking, I stripped everything out, rebooted what I could, got a new phone - and it worked !

I'm thinking the handset was faulty, maybe should have tried a different one 2 days ago  :-[

ON the flip side, I now know my way round an MBG  ;D

Thanks all for your thoughts and advice.

It looks like The Mitel box is rejecting the registration from the MBG:

(I've registered the MAC address on the MBG and set the 5320 up as a teleworker using the 7 key with the MBG address)

On the Mitel:
Unusual SIP Registration Activities, 217840 '404 Not Found' responses.Registration to sip:6134@10.xx.xxx.xx:5060/sip:6134@10.xx.xxx.xx:5060 was just attempted by SrcIP[10.xx.xxx.xx:5060] ViaIP[10.xx.xxx.xx:5060] ContactIP[10.xx.xxx.xx:5060]. Since the last log there have been 1 other log requests for 'not found' failures. If this is not an address you recognize please change your firewall to block this address

On the Phone:
L2 DL error (after TFTP: main has downloaded to 1466)

On the MBG:

Set Connection - Rejected
Acceptor:Plaintext-UDP, ID:99bc87173eb6277d21ac0b2035533a104623, Ip:yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:5072, Icp:zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz, active-connections:1, LocalIp:yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy, Type:SIP, Reason: rejected by ICP (code 404), persistent:0

Does anyone know How / Where I tell the Mitel that the registration is to be expected & valid ?

Kind Regs,
Rob.

Wind up or not it was the music !

Added a music button, got her to press it, removed the button and now no beeps !!!

Thanks all for your thoughts & help - should guarantee me a coffee next time I visit site :)

Not sure how it got there in the first place, or if now the phone is playing silence to cover the beeps, lol

Hi all,

Any advice on configuring homeworkers on MBG's ?

Is there a user guide handy ? I looked but could not see... may have man-scanned...

I've set up a 5320 as an IP device only so I can HOTDESK on to it when I'm WFH and HOTDESK on to my office phone when working in the office - is that good practice ? I take it you can't have the same number co-located in 2 places ?

The 5320 works at home but gets stuck on the HTML App Upgrade screen so isn't very functional, although I do get dial tone (can't use any keys inc HOTDESK when that screen is stuck on)

On the 5320, I've pointed the Teleworker and all the config to the MBG as this has an internet routable address 195.xx.xx.xx - is that right ?

I took the handset in to the office to upgrade the firmware - this should be possible from home though, right ?

Thanks all - this is a great forum !
Rob.

It's there all the time, every couple of seconds, beep beep, lol - so I don't think it's anything ringing as that would come and go...

I'm going to delete and re-add it tomorrow to see if that works, but it seems like a rather large hammer to crack a walnut...

« on: February 28, 2018, 07:58:31 AM »
Hi all,

I've got a receptionist getting driven nuts by a 5360 handset which is giving a double beep every couple of seconds, while the phone is ONHOOK

It's not got a cordless handset or headset so it's not batteries.
There's no features set on it that I can see in "locate feature extn". I've also cancelled all active features by FAC
There's no error logs or events at the time it started.
I've turned off the error beep notification in settings.
I've reset the handset by unplugging and changing the type to a 5320 and back and doing the ### extn number

but it's still bleeping...

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,
Rob.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Voicemail for HotDesk Users...

Hi Vince,

Thanks for taking the time to reply, yes I had all that checked !

It turns out that this was a config issue, the user had a call Forward No Answer Internal & External to a number which was giving busy !

Not sure why it would follow that, but deleted it and it worked !

Thanks again - it got me checking config from scratch...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Voicemail for HotDesk Users...
« on: December 11, 2017, 08:55:35 AM »
Hi all,

I've got Voicemail set up and working for HotDesk users (and everyone else) on RTNR & BUSY in Call Rerouting 1st Alternative.

However, when a HotDesk user logs off and their extn number is rang, it doesn't go to Voicemail at all - just get busy tone (or is it NU, will have to check ?)

I've read on the forums that a logged off HotDesk user is treated as busy - is that correct? If so, why don't I get voicemail ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas !

Kind Regs,
Rob.

Thanks again ACE,

If anyone's interested or didn't know there's some software called WinPDM which helps greatly with the setup of wifi handsets.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Is there a CRON equivalent on MiVoice ?
« on: November 07, 2017, 07:09:49 AM »
Hi all,

I want to set up a change to a system speed call (and back) on a weekly basis.

I used to do this by maintenance command CRON (well KRON, they were German) on the HiPath 4000, question is - is there a MiVoice equivalent ?

Or an easy way, can't see an option in scheduling ?

All thoughts and ideas more than welcome...

Kind Regs,
Rob.
