Title: Faulty Power supply
Post by: tone-the-phone on August 27, 2014, 08:22:04 AM
I have an SX2000 DSU cabinet with a faulty power supply, it kept cycling off and on which when checked remotely appeared to be a card fault but the only way I could diagnose the problem was to go to site, the clue being that the fan was stopped and the whole cabinet was power cycling.
This raises the question is there a maintenance command that can be used remotely to determine the condition of the power modules in the cabinets?

I've never seen one.
Perhaps the STAT command may do it.
The only time I've ever had a 2k PS go bad it was always the ring voltage.
I can't remember ever doing a STAT on a faulty one.

Thanks for the reply, I tried some stat commands but nothing came up.  Do you know if the power supply detects cabinet temperature and turns the fan on when needed or should it run continuously?
