Title: Call forwarding and Voicemail
Post by: toolbox123 on October 06, 2009, 12:52:50 PM
Hi All,

This is all internal and on the same 3300 icp phone switch.  What I would like to do is forward my extension to another extension (no probs here).  On the second extension, voicemail never picksup it just rings and rings.  How do I get voicemail to pickup?

Thanks.

Two ways of doing this.
1- at the second phone, use the menus and forward it to VM.   This is useful if the original phone forwards on RNA to the second phone as opposed to forwarded on busy.
2 - in the call rerouting second alternative, assign a number to forward to VM.  (Don't use instance #1.)   Next go to the Call Rerouting Assignment form, look up the 1st phone and assign the Call Rerouting 2nd alt number to it.

Thanks Ralph,

The only thing is I want it to ring normally and then go to voicemail.  Is that possible?

Correct.  This is now working internally just fine.

New problem, kinda like the old one.

From a 200SX to a 3300 ICP, when I try to forward the extension, it doesn't go to voicemail.  It just rings and rings.  When I put the phone into DnD, a busy signal is produced.  If I forward the extension from the 3300 icp to 200 sx, it works just fine.

Let me know if you need more info.

Are you trying to get the extension on the 200 to use the vm on the 3300?

Essentially yes.

Now, we are not using the embeded voicemail but a separate voicemail (active voice, repartee).

From my testing we have three 200s and one 3300, when a call is forwarded between 200s, once the call goes to the 2nd 200, it has left the 1st 200 and is now property of the 2nd 200, so when there is no answer goes to the voicemail of that particular extension.  I would just like to have this replicated on the 3300.

Thanks

What happens on an extension to extension call on the 3300 in a busy or no answer situation?

Check the call rerouting 1st alt and call rerouting assignment forms on the 3300 for the extension.

in the lounge set your ooma to answer at maximum rings.  Set your own vm a bit shorter, so that it will answer before ooma vm.

And as Southsound said, Welcome

Hi Mattmayn,

extension to extension call on the 3300 busy or no answer goes to voicemail.  I am using my extension for this testing and my extension under normal circumstances works just fine.

Also, call rerouting 1st alt and call rerouting assignment forms are correct.

Hi WRABBAKS73,

I am not a phone guru so can define lounge and ooma?

Thanks.

Hi,

So this is what I had to do to fix things:

On the 3300
Call forward the destination phone to voicemail busy and no answer

On the VoiceMail (repartee)
Under ports > remapping
Create an entry for the 200 ICP extension and point it to the 3300 extension.

This works.
