Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / SIP tracing from 3300 controller

So I learned something new this weekend. Maintenance commands 'sip tcpdump on'  'sip tcpdump off' will create a pcap SIP trace file which you can download from the controller and view in wireshark. Very handy.

For those interested you download it from the /vmail folder ovia an ftp session

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Remote connection via PPTP

Hi Guys,

Right, i have never done this before but it seems that a client requires this and I will need to talk another engineer through this. Let me give you some backgroud:

system installed an a private 192.168.1.x subnet CXi only using embedded ports. Client does not want the whole subnet on their network but would like to manage the system. So if I plug the WAN port into their network and configure it with a static IP and setup the PPTP they should be able to connect via a VPN. Is it easy enough to setup?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / R9 to 4.1 IPT

Ok may sound a little stupid but I have a install coming up to install a 3300 (MCD4.1) customer requires it to be IP tunked to another 3300 (R9) which cannot be upgraded at the moment. Normally there is no issue using IP trunking between two switches running different releases however, obviously 4.1 will be the new database format. I know in theory this shouldn't make a difference but there is just a little niggle in the back of my mind. Someone put my mind at rest please........

Mitel Software Applications / Prairiefyre MCC migration

Hello,

We are trying to migrate a prairiefyre multimedia contact centre to a new server and are having real difficulties in copying the existing public folders and their content. Have tried the replication option in exchange but this doesnt seem to copy over the folders correctly nor does it seem to shift the content for some reason.

Any ideas welcome?

does anyone know if you can use the 'record a call' feature to record to embedded voicemail when using a 5550 IP Console? I cannot find anything in the doc's that mentions the 5550.
