Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Multi Device User and Voicemail
« on: August 30, 2013, 03:11:50 PM »
Hi all, odd question, but I hope somebody has the answer. We have 20 hotdesk users with Multi device users groups setup with their desk phone (eg ext 234) and mobile/cell phone (eg ext *234). Problem is when the desk phone is not logged in and the mobile is not present in the group an internal call gets DND. So in the morning when I try and call Fred Smith, I know he is in, the mobile is not active in the group and his desk phone is not logged in. I want to call him and leave him a VM, but just get DND,
BUT..... When the user is logged into the desk phone and currently on a call we need the internal called to get the busy tone, so the caller can use the call me back option.
Basically how do I make a MDUL user fall back to VM if none of the group are present?

Hi guys, right.. The problem is with the app key. I have also programmed the call hist key, that shows a cr@p call history using the vol up dn buttons, interestingly this does show the called ID name!!! So we know it can be done, but the app does not show it! Does anybody from Mitel read these forums?

No, the system is very normal, just a CX 3300 box with 40 handsets. MAS with UCA and NU running in VM and MBG in VM for teleworkers. How do I check if flex dims have been done? How many external entries do you have?

Hi, do you have a 5360 phone? If not i don't know if you have the same on other phones, but on the 5360 you have a call history button which shows in full screen your calls, made, missed and answered. Just like recents button on the iPhone. But this list shows numbers not names for external calls. But the number and alpha tags are in the 3300 directory, because it shows the name in the display when you receive or dial that number. I will try and get a picture.

We only have 5360 handsets so not sure if this applies to other 53xx models. We have a call history button that shows all made, missed calls etc. however it only shows the numbers of the calls not the name apart for other system users. For example. If I make a call to company ABC Ltd, I dial the number and the display shows the name. (Name from the telephone directory), finish my call, look in the call history page and it shows the number and not the name. However it does show the name for all other system users? We are running 3300 v6 sp1. Any ideas?

I have reached our max for our system. 1432 numbers. If I try to add more is says no due to alpha tagging... Our Mitel partner says:

"Following further investigation from our internal technical help desk and support from Mitel 3rd line we understand that the Mitel Directory is based on a 4 digit extension entry. (essentially an internal directory albeit that external numbers can be included).

You have purchased the CX controller which has a user limit of just over 100 IP users and is therefore processor power and memory is resourced accordingly.

Our understanding is you are attempting to upload over 16,000 directory entries which are largely external numbers ranging from 12- 16 digits into a system of this size.

Whilst the Mitel system has one of the largest internal directories on the market the directory resources cannot support the number you are looking at especially as the majority are 12-16 digit entries.

Our understanding is that this is not possible even if we plan to flex the system dimensions. Flex Dims is a chargeable service where we can allocate more system resource to a particular area of the system features, in this case the directory, by reducing the resources allocated to other features.

It is Mitel’s opinion that to achieve a directory size similar to the one you are trying to load will take so much resource it will seriously affect the normal operation of the system and therefore they would not undertake this.

The conclusion being that we cannot import the directory size you are attempting"

We can cut down 16000 entries, but 1432 is not many. Or should I just accept it? Advise please?

I have added the web cert to the trusted root authorities, but this still does not allow MAS to use active directory for authentication. Any other ideas guys. It's something to do with AD LDAP lookups using TLS...

« on: August 05, 2013, 05:03:31 PM »
We have just upgraded to MAS 5 and enabled IDS. It sync's with the directory server ( windows 2008 r2 AD). I want to enable authentication so users can use their windows passwords for UCA and UCA iPhone. It's says I have to install the mitel cert authority on the directory server. How? Can anybody help? How do I make the request?

The setting on the 5360 menu that i am talking about, enables or disables the phone from talking to your PC. the COS function is to stop the PC port on the back. When i disable the PC Connectivity settings in the menu the presence information stops. When you enable it, it has an IP address and Password, the IP address is the IP of the phone:

To obtain the IP address for your 53xx IP desk phone:
On your desk phone, press the Menu key ().

Press the Settings softkey.

Press the PC Connectivity softkey.

Make note of your phone's IP address. The IP address is displayed under IP Address for PC.

NOTE: Contact your administrator for your phone's IP address if it is not displayed.

Select the Enable option to enable the phone password.

Press the Save softkey.

Press the Close softkey.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Phonebook vs Speedcall
« on: July 15, 2013, 05:04:34 PM »
Hi guys... I am looking at the best way to add about 2000 company names into our MCD 3300 system, but need to find them in the address book and or dial them with a short code. When one of the external companies calls we would like the name if the company.

Therefore is it possible to add a name to a system speedcall?
Or add a speedcall number to the phonebook?

Thanks for you help, I am learning fast!
