Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Outbound Caller ID

remember this only works for PRI, not a standard voice T1. also the telco should provide a default CPN on outbound calls.. so that if the remote CO switch doesnt receive the CPN from the mitel it will insert usually the BTN or main number of your property. the default would be something you would set up with the telco.

config reserved means that the Mitel DHCP server issues the phone an IP address, however the phone did not respond.  if the firmware is older in your 5201's make sure you do the OLD way of setting up the DHCP server using the separate options 128-130, as opposed to the DHCP option 43 / 125 way...  I have found more than one case of a 5201 sitting on the shelf with very old firmware in it so it wont recognize the newer DHCP scheme until it boots all the way up and downloads its firmware from the PBX...

see i saw that about the NTP client support.. want sure if that meant the 3300 would go out for NTP info or if it would serve NTP data to clients... we are getting more and more customers that want to place SIP endpoints in Guest Rooms of Hotels that have displays on them. with non-display phones it was a non-issue. I am doing such an Install this week, typically these are single systems that the customer doesnt want / nor pay for OPS...  fortunately thus far the High speed internet provider has been running a Linux based Gateway server that we can grab from....
I need to talk to our mitel rep about getting the field trial of 9.1, esp since we have another 5 of these installs upcoming in then ext couple months..

I found that 8.0 UR4 was the most stable release from our standpoint.... I have a couple sites running 9.0.0.41 so far and other than programming issues with the spreadsheet import they are stable too...  there are some major fixes for hospitality in 9.0 which we deployed at a clustered site without issue....

fortunately only a couple of our older sites are running the older 'MX" hardware... we have been pushing MXe controllers since they were released which makes the move to 9.1 a possibility for all...

Does anyone know if 9.1 will bring an NTP server to the mix? would be nice for all my SIP endpoints to receive their time from the local 3300 as opposed to having them go to the internet or havng to maintain an NTP server on site for them... esp in a hospitality environment this would be a nice thing to have.
