Title: Mitel 3300 phone Heartbeat failures
Post by: ralph on February 27, 2013, 10:53:58 AM
Is anyone seeing heartbeat failures ~3:00AM every morning?
May be related to 6.0 software.

not on our system but not a lot of phones. Anything scheduled at that time?

we have one system that does this at 10 pm every night (although it only tends to lose teleworker heartbeats) and has been pinned down to the server (not the mitel) starting the scheduled backup, once it gets going everything returns to normal.

I reviewed a couple systems quick this morning running 6.0, I don't see any heartbeat losses over the extent of the logs on either PBX.

Did anyone manage to find the cause of the phone Heartbeat failures?

I'm working at a site now with two 3300 controllers, approx 60 handsets.
We experience multiple Heartbeat failures at approx 2/3 AM, same time every night. The IP console also disconnects overnight.

The only thing we have scheduled is a system backup at 4AM.
Here is a list of installed systems;

2 x Mitel 3300 Controllers (Running MCD 6.0 PR1)
1 x MBG
1 x MCA+RCA
1 x NuPoint
1 x Mitel Application Server
1 x Xarios Call Recorder
1 x Xarios Application Server
1 x PrarieFyre CCM/IVR

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I remember correctly, I saw something from Mitel saying there was a known issue with the heartbeat failures.

If you have access to MOL, check there.

Thank you Ralph!
I'll see what I can find on the MOL portal.

I'm glad others have had this issue, as the Mitel engineers are stumped..

From browsing other websites, I've read that a weekly scheduled reboot of the 3300 fixes the issue.

The boffins have told me it will be fixed in MCD6 SP1 as mentioned. Apparently to be released at the end of May.

We've been having Hotdesk ACD agents failing over to the secondary, then after the health checks they fail back. Once in a while the hotdesk login goes into lockout state instead of failing back, so have to issue BUSY RESET <DN> to fix. Apparently they think it's a voicemail cleanup process consuming too many resources. Our failing site is on 5.0 SP2 PR2, although they acknowledged the problem is in current MCD6 releases.

Thanks everyone!

I'm glad Mitel are aware of the issue, hopefully SP1 will resolve the issue!

The release notes have been re-released as v2 (they were v1.1 last week). The change section says:

Quote
12.0.1.23    2nd version of release notes for MCD 6.0 SP1
-added 3am Heartbeat loss defects (MN463982/469352/473817/475449)

I'd actually queried this with the TSC last week, as they assured me the fix was in, but the release notes didn't mention anything. I'm not sure why the release itself is gone though.  :o

I had an open tick re the 3am failures. I am assured it is fixed in 6.0 SP1. Was released on may 30 then removed then next day. There are SIP issues with the release.

MCD6.0 SP1 is back on MOL. Now 12.0.1.24 (the pulled release was 12.0.1.23). Release notes have also been bumped to v3.

This looks to be the culprit for the disappearing act.  :P

I know the tread is about the heartbeat failures, but does anyone knows if the issues regarding the SIP channels getting stuck have been solved with the release of MCD 6.0 SP1?

I believe the SIP issue is fixed now. Had a site with the issue and product support suggested the upgrade to fix. Problem is its a cluster of SX2000's and 3300's so stuck at MCD 4 unless we want to break the cluster into two.
