Title: Upgrade from teleworker 4.5.52 to mbg 9.1

Hi

I need assistance in upgrading a Mitel teleworker solution 4.5.52 to the latest mbg.  Can this be done.  I cant see any tab for backup on the server manager.

Is there a direct upgrade path or do i need to do a full reinstall and just copy setting across.

It's all covered in the I&M guide, but yes, you will need to do a fresh install as the OS is now 64bit. Generally you have to re-install for each major version release.

I can't remember for sure, but you might be able to restore in a backup when going this far up, but yes otherwise it is just a rebuild.

Just looking at the Release notes now, it will be a fresh install either way, as you can't go from 4.5 to 9.x anyway. I'd guess you would need to do a triple upgrade to get from 4.5 upwards if you didn't want to do a clean run, as there were DB changes, OS changes, etc along the way, so clean install will be far easier, but depending on the size of the install maybe not easy (ie if you have a lot of handsets on there, or SIP devices with manual passwords specified).

Just another thought, as the release is 10 years old (4.5 was released on September 24 2007), you will also need to have a part applied to the app record to be able to convert from Teleworker to MBG, as otherwise you wouldn't be able to upgrade as well.

"Upgrade - Teleworker 4.5 to MBG 5.1" is the part required to be applied to the app record on the AMC. I thought it had been discontinued, but looking in CPQ it does still appear to be available.

Remember you will need to upgrade the MBG and the MSL. IIRC you have to upgrade the MSL and then the MBG blade. Once you upgrade the MSL to a newer version it puts into place options to do any more upgrades from the blades panel. It shows what version you have and if there is a direct upgrade from that and gives you a link to perform the upgrade from that blade panel. Same with the MBG as well.
