I have an issue with our PC Attendant Console having a delay of transmit audio when answering calls.
The delay last ~3-5 seconds before the operator can be heard so the caller doesn't hear "Thank you for calling our company."

Is there a known issue with this?

I should also note that we are using SIP trunks and that it only happens with the console.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel Visio Stencils
« on: June 07, 2022, 11:07:57 AM »
I'm looking for Visio stencils.  The most recent I've been able to find is from 2008.
Can anyone point me to something more current?

Today I removed a 3300 MXeII network element from our cluster that is being retired.
The controller is completely removed and when doing the command XNET STAT ALL IP it is no longer there.
But I have an ICP Comms Card alarm.
My thought is that I need to reboot the primary controller in the cluster but I can't find any docs that say so.

What are your thoughts?

Question for the VARS:  How are you dealing with 911 compliance for remote workers?
Are you using external third party services?  If so, what services are you using?

Has anyone used the Grandstream GXW42XX FXS Gateway with the Mitel MiVB 3300?

I'm curious to know your experience with it.
Was it easy to set up?
Does it connect to the 3300 via trunks or is each port programmed as a SIP station?

It's seems to be taking a long time to update us.

Does anyone have a doc for how to integrate a CUCM to Mitel MiVB via SIP trunks?

Non-Mitel Chatter / Volumio On Raspberry Pi
« on: December 08, 2021, 07:58:32 AM »
Not telephony related but a lot of fun.

Last night I discovered Volumio.  It allows me to play hundreds of internet radio stations through my stereo using a Raspberry Pi.
I downloaded the image for the Pi and it boots up without having to config anything.  I control it from my cell phone. Although it streams at 128k my audio would be better if I had a DAC for it. If you're into audio, this is a neat little project.

The price for the Raspberry Pi has certainly gone up.  You used to be able to get them for ~$35US.  Now I see them for over $100 for a 4 core 8 gig model.  That's kind of a bummer because I love playing with these things. I'd love to get a couple more.

Our logs are getting flooded with this error:

Quote
Software Logs:   Warning:   Source T1D4_VDSU.

Mitel said it's nothing to worry about but we're getting several of these errors every two minutes.
I can't see any other T1 errors.

Non-Mitel Chatter / Fun with Raspberry Pi
« on: November 18, 2021, 07:59:09 AM »
~~ Continued from topic in the introduction section ~~

Welcome.
Any experience with a Raspberry Pi?

Ralph

Hi Ralph! I'm no ninja with them but have a few dotted around the radio studio I built and maintain for a LPFM (we call them Community Radio in the UK) performing audio streaming reception and running clocks and info displays on big screens. Planning to spin one up in the home office to run 3CX and replace my aging Linksys SPA9000 at some point. (If anyone has reciprocal info on how to attach a Linksys SPA4000 4 port FXO device to 3CX I'll be keen to chat!)

Rubberspanner,
One of the things I'd like to do with a Raspberry Pi is to use it for something similar to being a source of Music On Hold via SIP.  I need to connect it to an external audio source.  In my first case, a TV monitor, and then use that as a source.  I've been able to do it with internet radio stations and Youtube but I need to connect to an external source. So far I haven't been able to make that happen.
I've been using Freeswitch as the main SIP switch but I'm certainly open to other software packages.  My problem is that I haven't been able to get Freeswitch to recognize the mic.

Mitel and RingCentral make a $650 million deal. RingCentral buys Mitel's IP rights and patents covering network and call management, security, and infrastructure.
One of my favorite companies of all times is changing.
RingCentral becomes Mitel's exclusive UCaaS partner.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.  What do Y'all think?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 Group Page Across SIP Trunk
« on: November 05, 2021, 11:21:13 AM »
I'm trying to do a group page across a SIP trunk.
Code is <FAQ>+<Page Group>
From a device, this works.
Across a SIP trunk the trace shows I get a "406 Not Acceptable."

In the COS, all paging options are allowed.
I can't find anything in the docs that say this doesn't work or is not allowed.

Has anyone tried this?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab Client Disconnects
« on: November 04, 2021, 09:27:29 AM »
I have a customer that is having an issue with their MiCollab client.
When they fire it up, it works for ~1 minute to 90 seconds and then disconnects. They have to close it and reopen it to get connected again.
The problem started when they upgraded to new data switches.
I'm told there is not firewall in between them.
In the feedback report it seems to show that it timed out connecting to the server.
Mitel doesn't appear to have any suggestions so I'm wondering if anyone else has stumbled onto a similar problem.
Client version: 7_3_0_410

Introduction and Announcements / Back on line
« on: July 17, 2021, 02:59:51 PM »
What a pain this was.
My host pushed a new version of PHP out and it crashed the forum.
I had to wait until I had enough time to work on it so it was down since Thursday.

We're now at the latest version of the forum software.
There's still a few things I need to do, such as work on the anti-spam mods but hopefully I'll have that up soon.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Please let me know if you see any problems.
