Title: Low and Garbled Audio on Conference Bridge
Post by: jbbts on March 13, 2023, 09:10:50 AM
Using the internal bridge with a 10 channel AT&T BVOIP PRI, delivered via Fiber.   No other traffic is on the connection except for the voice.

Client complains or poor audio in the bridge, static and low volume.   We have replaced the PRI card and the processor and have AT&T looking at the PRI/running a log capture  We are unable to duplicate after numerous tests,   AT&T also can't duplicate.

I thought maybe a bad channel, but we've loaded the bridge up with 10 users and still can't duplicate.

Any thoughts?

jbbts,

Static on a PRI should be fairly easy to find. If you can't recreate it then look at the phone/handset/headset of the people complaining.

Thanks,

TE

Its only in the conference bridge, not on normal calls.   Normal calls don't have the poor audio condition.   Processor and PRI card have already been replace...I'm grasping at straws, because I know AT&T isn't going to kill themselves to find the issue.

jbbts,

Sorry to hear that.

Have you tried increasing the gain on Conference calls?

Thanks,

My tech didn't see/couldn't find a setting just for Conference Calls.    He said there was a setting but it would effect all calls coming across the PRI.   Mitel support was no help at all.

jbbts,

Tell your tech to look under the Online Monitor settings and he will find it there.

I took this out of our old Default DB Engineering changes manual.

System/System Information [OLM Only]
-Conference Gain: 3dB of Gain [New Default Setting]

This is 0 DB by default and Tech never used Inter-Tel/Mitel defaults, so we always went through and changed the Default DB to match our default settings.

Thanks,

TE
