I have 3 6940's here on my 250 system.. From what i recall (and this is just memory ad i did not install these myself) they are SIP phones?  They had to put in that Linux Based PC to make them work (Mitel Communications Server?)... Its been a few years..   Right now i have only 1 in operation, the other 2 were remote phones i took offline for 5360's (much easier and works better).

Nevermind.. Feature Code 313.  Google is my friend.  ;D

Hi everyone once again.. Question.  We never setup Music on hold.. i am playing with it now.. We just want to say take an internet radio stream and plug it in for MOH etc.  When i did that, the phones not in use starting playing the Stream over the speakers..  Where do i go to turn that off so that the MOH Port is only played when on Hold or during transfers?  I see it in the CO trunk Groups "Audio on...) some are set to Music-On-Hold. some MOH Port.   What is the best configuration?

Thanks.

Hey all.. I am trying to install the 3.2 Attendant console on a new PC (I recently found the usb key).. We never used it because we didn't have a receptionist for a while, but now we do and I'm running into an issue as no matter what setting i put in the install, it keeps saying it cant find the database.

I Pu tin the IP for the Mitel.. there is no OAI password i was told, and there is only 1 node.  Then i put in the receptionist extension and the password for it, but it errors on launch saying it can not locate the database.  What am i missing?

Thanks for the help.

Afternoon all.. I have some handsets that are no longer holding a good charge, battery level shows low 3 mins after picking up call.  Can i change the batteries in these handsets?  Some places i have read they are soldiered in, and the stock on Ebay currently is hit or miss..  Thoughts?  And if so anyone know the battery part number to get?

Thanks Much.

In her old office i did move it to the other side of the desk but the problem did not go away..  There are no other phones (other then her cell phone) within at least 15 feet of hers (and thats thru a wall, she has her own office)..  Moving the phone so far away hampers her ability to use it as well, so while obviously for testing purposes its one thing...

All she has in her office is 3 printers, a desktop PC, check scanner, desktop scanner, 3 monitors, wireless keyboard and mouse.  While its alot, my station has 10x that, and i never have a single blip.

Just want to re-hash this, there has been no answer or rhyme or reason to it.  The user the last few weeks has been using a corded handset with no issues... but i turned off the dect module so no wireless headset functionality can be used either, and she really wants to use that again.  Do i go with a corded headset?  It kind of defeats the purose and i just can't figure out how 2 different phones, with her, exhibit the same dropping of calls, when for me at my desk they work just fine and have never dropped a call (the 5360)...

I cant find any intereference in her office that could randomly cause this but it has to be something i obviously can't see.  Shes even in a new office, and it does the same thing as her old office?!?!?!  Can it be her?  Does she have too much a personal charge thats making it drop?  Im at wits end here.  No one else has these issues with the system or devices, including my cube which has so much electric and electronic devices in it im basically Space-X.

We actually swapped it out with a completely different phone..  Same model (5360).. I gave her my phone, i took hers.  I have had no issues with it, she had issues with mine, which i never did.  It's almost like that issue where a person has too much a charge and it can effect electronic devices... Its BATTY.  We even went so far to give her a 6xxx model SIP phone, but she didn't like the phone and wanted the 5360 back (the 6xxx couldnt be setup the same way as the 5xxx, its close but some things can get annoying, but thats for another thread).

I was reading some old posts and see there was maybe a old firmware that caused issues?  I dont think thats the case, it really feels like something in her office is causing some sort of wonky interference issue.  A total disaster to pin down.

Just an update on this.. I misspoke when saying it was a bluetooth issue.  The phones in question (5360) have the DECT Module in it.  What seems to be happening is during a call, the Dect Module blue light will turn off, the call seems to still be active (the user in question believes if she hits the speaker button, the call will resume on the speaker phone) but the Dect module, and or communication goes dead.

We have changed phones, and the same thing has occured.  Its not on every call, but it happens enough to be not trustworthy when on the phone and is causing the user to use her cell phone for calls.  I have put a corded handset on the unit today and unpaired the 2 dect devices (handset and headset) to at least make the unit trustworthy to use.

The question is what is interfering, or why is the dect module dying?  There is no wifi inside her office that can be the issue.. (I have global wifi in the office and no one else has dect issues, including myself whos sitting right on top of the wifi router basically)..  Her iphone 8 is there which has wifi on, and standard pc equipment, printers, scanners, monitor etc..  Its Crazy.

Have an issue.. Upgraded a user from a 5360, to a 6940 SIP phone, and everything working except 1 thing that is different.  I have set in the configuration for calls to NOT auto answer just FYI.  On the 5360, intercom calls would beep and then autoanswer to speaker.  Transferred calls from reception or another phone would Ring, then you would have to manual answer.  We want that configuration.. Is this not dooable on the 6940's?  In the config profile i see SIP ALLOW AUTO ANSWER, which is set to FALSE because the user doesn't want calls that are transferred to automatically answer on her phone (she may want to send it to voice mail etc..)..  In the instructions this setting says its for INTERCOM calls, but its doing it to transsferred calls also??  I also see there is an SIP INTERCOM LINE setting but its not in the profile, i dont know if that could help the situation.

Appreicate the insight.

I have a user on my Mitel system who is consistantly having issues with her phone.  She has a 5360, with bluetooth headset and wireless handset.  She gets random dropped calls (Line just drops dead, like it hangs up).. She was just on a call and the call dropped with a "Call Failed, Reorder Tone??"  What the hell is that?!?

Anyway, we have swapped phones, cat 6 cables, different port in the POE Switch, shes even in a different office now.. We cant figure this out!  Where do we start to trace it?  Could it be electronic intereference with something in her office?  Its the only thing that came with her to thenew office (PC, triple monitors, scanners etc)..  She's the only one having an issue with over 30 extensions running just fine...

Im open to all thoughts and suggestions.

Yea im a tad worried about vpn performance but we are also taking Gigabit FioS to Gigabit Fios, and 500 Meg Cable at another location so unless the VPN REALLY kills speed, it should work..

Here is what i currently have... (PS let me preface this by saying i read about this ALG-SIP Watchguard function, but i got rid of it in the M400 firewall cause it kills outgoing communicaion)..

2 ISP's in my office.  Fios Gigabit / 500 Meg Optimum Cable.

Right now the 6940 is setup (and mostly working) using a static IP on the LAN, using a gateway going out over the cable isp (192.168.1.254), and OpenDNS Servers.  In the phone itself, the configuration server is set in HTTPS to my external mitel IP on the FiOS, which goes into the firebox..

In theory it should be working if i take it outisde the office, plug it in say at home (also gigabit fios) and it should connect  as it is here..  I don't see anything other then the local IP which i set static that would be causing it to be any different outside the office.

My firewall ports are as follows:

UDP: 69 TCP 8202-8203 TCP: 80  (My static External IP) --> 10.0.1.156 (This is the PC Phone Manager is on).
TCP: 5060 UDP: 5060 UDP: 20000-20500 (My static External IP) --> 10.0.1.10 (The Mitel 250)
UDP 6004-7039 tcp: 5004-05007 TCP: 5566 tcp: 5570 UDP: 5567 udp: 5070 udp:20001 tcp: 68-69 tcp: 6800-6802 tcp:3998-3999 udp:50098-50508 tcp:443 (this one may have to change, just noticed something), tcp: 4000 tcp:044000  (Public IP) --> 10.0.1.10

We have a Mitel MyOffice 250 system in house, and we have 2 6940 SIP Phones on the system.  I have a user that wants one off site at his house.  We have been unable to get it to connect properly (we have 5340's off site just fine), and are thinking of trying perhaps a site to site VPN connection with dual routers to make the 6940 think its on the LAN.  Has anyone succeeded in getting one of these 6940 SIP phones connected remotley without needing the extra Mitel servers stuff that they "think" would work?

Im open to all options.

Thanks
