Title: MiVB software version in cluster
Post by: nowickj on April 06, 2017, 03:15:51 AM
I don't have any experience with clustering so I have a noob question. Does all nodes in cluster must have the same software version?

Hi Nowickj,

I believe the response from Mitel is that it's recommended that they all be on the same software version to avoid issues.

Recommended but not required. The release notes will tell you how far back compatibility goes for each release.

It is highly recommended by Mitel to have the same software versions on nodes that are clustered together to avoid issues.  It was explained to me that SDS sharing, especially, can be problematic when you have different versions on your sharing scope (ie. Cluster).

I second mszodiac about the SDS issues.

Although I have had different releases of the same version in clusters without too many issues. For instance 6.0 SP2 and 6.0 SP3 sync ok in the same cluster. However, I wouldn't do this with 6.0 SP3 and 7.0.

However, even this isn't without some problems. For instance, the latest version of MiCollab requires a specific release of 6.0 SP3 and above.
