Title: SIP limiting calls
Post by: mphod on July 21, 2015, 03:59:40 AM
Hi Guys

I have 3300 ICP MXe III box running version 7.0 SP1 PR1. We have 38 SIP Trunk licenses and 30 allocated and assigned. But we having a problem with following; when we have 8 calls at the same time for out going ,this is what we will get on the logs below.

SIP Peer Profile ACME is Congested. Calls may use alternate routing. Allocate additional licenses to this peer or check the configuration and traffic patterns to understand why you exceeded the max simultaneous calls (30) or max allowed (8) for this peer profile and how to prevent it in the future. This log may be displayed at most once per hour per link.

We have searched for any limitations or false config that can limit that but no success. Please help

Have you verified that your provider is allowing 30 channels.
Also are the endpoints (i.e. phones) IP?
Are you using compression (G729)

When this happens have you run a SIP STATS ALL  maintenence command to verify you didn't have 22 calls inbound?

Or the SIP command (I don't remember the exact command) to show you what is connected to the SIP trunks.
It's a possibility that the trunks have been hacked.

Ralph

Edit:  having said that, I've also seen trunks connected to something else, that never release.
