Title: Need urgent help with 4 digit dialing between version 6.0 and Ops manager
Post by: evan631 on November 21, 2013, 10:34:33 AM
We recently opened up a new office, and Mitel installed the latest software version.  However, all of our other offices are running older versions with Ops Manager and Enterprise manager.

We were told that 4 digit dialing would work but so far the Mitel tech cannot get it to work.  He is telling me the directory cannot be replicated.  Therefore 4 digit dialing would not work.

Any thoughts on this?

We are trying all options at this point.

Thanks

Evan

He's correct that he won't be able to get the Telephone Directory to sync, but he should be able to setup ARS routes that allow for the 4-digit dialing.

Your tech is incorrect.
You can route via 4 digits manually.

I believe he is getting this done as we speak with ARS.  This is a bit above my Mitel experience, but i believe he is setting ARS route of 88xx to point to the the trunk ID or temination point.

Thanks for the help!

Title: UPDATE Need urgent help with 4 digit dialing between version 6.0 and Ops manager

At this point we have 4 digit working out to the other locations, however the other locations cannot dial into the Cincinnati office using 4 digits.

The Mitel tech is thinking there is an issue on the MPLS side of things.  We are waiting to hear back from Mitel on this.  He says all the configs are correct in the other locations.

He used ARS to get the outbound 4 digits working.  I assume the same thing needs to be done on the remote systems.  He says the configs are all correct on all systems.

Do you think this is possible issue with the MPLS?  I would think if it was MPLS issue, we wouldn't be able to dial out using 4 digit either.

Thanks again for the help!

Unless you changed something in your MPLS then it can't be an issue.
As a matter of fact, if you can call one direction and get two way audio it isn't a problem with the network.

While it is a possibility that it is an issue with the MPLS, he will need to do the same ARS routing on all the other PBX's in order to get bi-directional 4-digit dialing.

It shouldn't be that hard.
I'd look to see what route the cluster elements are using then point extension XXXX directly at it.

Thanks again for the quick reply!

That's what I figured about the MPLS...if it works one direction with two way audio, then it probably isn't a MPLS issue.

He says he has done this.  He set it up on the local node...works perfect, but on the remote nodes calls come back as "out of service" when the dial in this node.

Thanks again.

From all remote node?
I've seen something weird once where I couldn't call from one node to one other node.
Went through all the programming and it was correct.  Even had Mitel engineering look at it.
The fix was to route the call through another node.  Worked fine that way.

If you enter "xnet stat all IP" do you see IP trunks OS?

Check trunk service assignment also
