Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Updating firmware on phones
« on: May 18, 2022, 03:32:08 PM »
Looking for guidance on updating phone firmware.  I have the sytem updated with new firmware for the 6900's do to a known vulnerability.  Rebooting the phones is one way I know to update this firmware.  What is the preferred method to update the firmware on these phones?  Maintenance commands?  Bouncing POE from my switches?

Thanks Dan

Great thanks for the response.  I see that there are options for the 2.4 and 5 ghz.  Are there options for band selection like the 5624?  I had issues getting these devices to work on anything other than 2.4ghz 802.11g.

Good morning,

I've got a 3300 on version, 9.0 SP3 PR1 with a handful of Ascom i62 phones.  It was a bear getting these devices to work on my wireless network back when I deployed them in late 2020.  Recently one of the devices failed.  It's not available any longer and the phone system vendor sent me a Mitel 5634, essentially the updated version of this wifi phone.  1) Is this device supported on the version that Iam running?  I tried to find a supported device matrix but couldnt locate anything.  Anyone have anything?

Apparently some things changed in the programming with WINPDM.  Previously, the i62's operated on 802.11g network.  There is no way to tell the 5634 to utilize the g network only, I can only select the 2.4ghz band and then allow the device to decide.  I've even gone as far as only allowing the G network on my wireless lan controller.  For some reason will only connect to the bn networks.

Is this thing supported on my system?   Thoughts on the network.

Thanks for the replys everyone.  I currently maintain a Revcord system.  I just wanted to see if and when we replace that system, if there are options directly from Mitel.

Good afternoon,

I'm looking for options from Mitel for voip recording at a PSAP I suppport.  Currently we're running a 3rd party solution.  It's a 3300 running some analog cards, otherwise it's all voip.  Are there any viable options from Mitel for the 3300?  I believe I read that the 3300 may not have any supported options from Mitel.

Thanks for the assist.

Dan

I don't know the syntax of the command you're suggesting to run, please advise.

All of those items resolve.  I can ping 8.8.8.8, (google dns) and sync.mitel-amc.com as well.  That returns the following.

Pinging sync.mitel-amc.com [216.191.234.91] with 32 bytes of data:

Good afternoon, I've got a technician who's claiming my network is the reason he cannot license his server through the internet.  The specific error he is receiving is

Im not sure how now this has become a problem, he could license the micollab server just fine.  Same network settings for both devices.  This system is live and the company, "Marco" technologies has been a real pain to work with.  Anything I can look for to potentially point this back to the tech?

Hi Where can i find button mapping?
Go to Users and Devices, open a user, and look in the KEYS tab, or Users and Device, Advanced Configuration, Multiline Set Keys.

Old thread but thanks that did it.

Hey folks,

I'm upgrading a mitel 3300 system and introducing a dozen 5624 wireless handsets.  Would like to do some testing on the current system before my upgrade.  Following this guide here.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-phTBmkuqo

Problem I'm getting is this error after I try to add a new number under the numbers tab from within WinPDM.

"there are no imported definition files with the parameter support.  Please import at least one definition file before creating new numbers."

In the demo I was following there was no definition file mentioned.  Any thoughts on my direction?

I see the extension it's tied to now.  Thanks.

There is no option to delete from that form.
