Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / CCS Trace
« on: July 07, 2015, 12:02:43 PM »
Hello

could anyone help with this CCS trace:

15:48:11 RI7 DPN F  CRM/CIM ;7;*166*1 2 3 4#

Reading from the manual it's a bit vague whether this call would even leave the system,

7 means: Congestion, Used When PBX equipment or suitable routes are busy.
166: Service information, 1: Call offer not possible, 2:Executive Intrusion not possible, 3:Call back when free not possible, 4: Call back messaging not possible

Sooooo, has this call even left the 3300 or is the trace telling me there's something network side that is clearing the call down??

Cheers!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Can't log into CXi
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:33:11 AM »
Hello

We have a CXi in our data cabinet that we use very occasionally to test stuff on. Haven't logged into it for a while and today found that I can't log into it at all!

Browsing to it's IP Address gives me 'This page can't be displayed'

I know the IP Address is correct as it's static and it shows this address on a network scan.

If I connect a phone to it it downloads it's firmware then sits at Contacting Server.

If I try and telnet to it it asks for my username which it takes then password which I enter then it just closes the putty session.

If I run the software installer tool, enter the IP, username and password it comes back with 'The 3300 is either starting up or shutting down and the MiXML interface is not currently available'

So it's obviously thrown a wobbler somehow due to lack of use but how do I recover it please??

Cheers

Dave

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000, how long is left?
« on: February 19, 2015, 06:03:43 PM »
Hello

Anyone have an opinion or has heard anything on the road map for the 5000/250??

It seems to have gotten a bit quiet release wise other than PRs and i'm wondering if Mitel are going to move an Aastra product into the 5000s role as the product has been out for quite a while now.

If Mitel are to keep the 5000 going I would like quite a big refresh or even a completely new product based on the 5000 core.

CXi type controller with built in PoE ports.
ALL of the ports on the front presented on RJ45 sockets individually.
A Virtual Option.
Skip the PEC and the PS-1, just give the controller a CPU that beefy enough to run 250 IP Phones from the start. (Avaya do it on the IP500 for 400 IP Phones from a very low price point so why can't Mitel??)
Better Diagnostics, Clearer Logs, An ISDN2 lost sync, your SIP Trunk password is wrong, that sort of thing.
Built In Call Recording, not just ad hoc.
Multi Node Hotdesking.
BRI cards that last more than a couple of years.
Phone Manager server built in to the 5000 so there's no need to spec or worse still, use an existing server the customer has.

Anyone care to comment or have any more for the wish list??

Cheers

Dave

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / The many names of this product:
« on: October 24, 2014, 10:12:29 AM »
Inter-Tel 5200 / 5400 / 5600
Mitel 5000
Mitel Mivoice Small Business
Mitel Mivoice Office
Mitel Mivoice Office 250

Also confusingly there is now a Mitel Mivoice 5000, which is actually an Aastra product I believe!!

If they buy Shoretel as well I dread to think what the naming convention is going to be.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Rough Week
« on: July 30, 2014, 03:18:23 PM »
Monday, calls started coming in from our Mitel 5000 customers who are running Hipcom SIP trunks from ourselves. Voice disappears after a random amount of time.

Eventually we have fault reports from ALL of our customers with this particular combo of system and trunks.

Report it to BT/Hipcom who eventually admit they have had a lot of other complaints but it's definitely not their fault, they have made no changes to the SIP Trunk platform.

They tell us there was a patch released that fixes this problem, V6 SP1 PR2.

So why has my V4/5/6 systems been working for all this time now I suddenly need a Patch!  :-[

Upgraded three today, got another three to do tomorrow whilst a colleague does two then a few stragglers on Friday.

This will end up costing us quite a bit as we need to apply SWA from Mitel to the systems to upgrade them, also our engineering time which can't be billed out on any other jobs.

I also have a three node system using Xarios and CSM with a Faulty CT Gateway HASP. Not sure if you can still buy them since the new version came out??

Got in from Work tonight at 7pm and just as I walk in the door I get a call from another customer who runs a call centre telling me his ISDN30 is down! Fingers crossed it's BT and not a faulty PRI card. Thing is on this site he had SIP trunks which he moved away from and was wondering if he could re-instate as cover for this outage, no, we currently have a SIP trunk outage.

It's only Wednesday and I have worked 9 hours overtime so far!

Just thought I would share with you all  :'(

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MCD Hipcom / BT SIP Trunks

Hello

You can fully expect millions of questions from me as I start meddling about with MCDs more and more :)

We have Two Hipcom/BT SIP trunks setup on our demo MCD V6 SP2.

Inbound calls are fine, voice both ways, brilliant.

When I try and dial out I get INVALID on the display.

I was told on my course a CCS trace would tell me everything I would ever need to know. Below is the CCS trace of me trying to dial out and I can't make head nor tail of it!

CCS Tracing is enabled for continuous output display

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 CXi Manual Software Install
« on: February 24, 2014, 09:44:19 AM »
Hello

We were given a Mitel 300 CXi chassis for nothing the other week, it wouldn't boot. VXWorks would start then tell me it couldn't load the boot file and kept on going round and round in Circles.

I'm following the manual on how to re-install the system software manually but it's getting stuck trying to load the upgrademain.out file from my FTP server.

So it boots
downloads Boot_Install from my FTP server
Starts partitioning then tries to download upgrademain.out

The problem is I can see the logs on the FTP server real time and it's not even trying to download this file!

I see it downloading Boot_Install just fine so I know my FTP config is good, it just doesn't seem to even try and find upgrademain.out!

Where / what could I be doing wrong?

Cheers.

I recently passed my Basic MCD cert and doing my advanced next month.

The task I have is creating an Auto Attendant on an old 3300 ICP V8.

Calls will ring in to a greeting and be given two options, each option routing to a Ring Group, I have the initial Mailbox set up 6100, this routes to 6101 for option 1 and 6102 for option 2, 6101 and 6102 have matching mailboxes and ring groups set up.

The bit I appear to be stuck on is routing the DDI to the initial Mailbox, this site is set up with the Speedcalls routing the DDI to the internal numbers.

If I dial 6100 internally I get a number unobtainable tone, same if I route an external number to it.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

Cheers

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Can't connect to MCD V6 SP2 after upgrade
« on: November 07, 2013, 11:02:48 AM »
Hello

Upgraded our MCD CXi test system in the office to V6 SP2 from MCD 4.2.

Now when I browse to it I get the error message that I need IE 7 or later or Firefox 17 or later, i'm using IE9 and I must admit I haven't tried Firefox.

Tried deleted my cache and using compatibility view with no luck.

Any ideas??

Cheers

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Hotdesking on a 3300 ICP
« on: October 17, 2013, 02:04:21 PM »
Probably a noob question this one!  :o

A phone is set as a hot desking phone, a user wants to log in to that phone with their own DN, does the user have to be set as a hotdesking user also?

If so how do you do it as the option to change it under Users is greyed out?

They have 5 hot desking licenses and are apparently not using any of them at the minute??

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Remote Access and DDI query
« on: October 02, 2013, 10:15:52 AM »
Hello

Been a long time 5000 engineer and booked in to do the MCD course at the end of November.

In the mean time my company has taken on a 3300 MXE ICP V8 who want a few changes making, done the easy stuff, changed some names, re-programmed some buttons.

We remotely access it at the minute using Logmein to the receptionists PC, not the best solution!

I gather you remotely access a 3300 normally by creating a VPN to it, can anyone tell me what ports need to be forwarded on the router and any gotchas in the setup as it seems fairly straight forward from what I can determine on the 3300.

Also and this is a bit embarrassing, I can't seem to find how to configure DDI destinations! The 5000 has a nice table with the DDI digits on the left and the destination, whether it be a group or phone on the right, I can't find anything similar on any of the forms on this 3300  ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000 Firmware Downgrade
« on: July 08, 2013, 09:33:03 AM »
Hello

Has anyone downgraded a 5000 Compact Flash card recently?

I've done it a few trimes on pre V4 systems but i've tried it today with a V5.1, trying to downgrade to a 5.0.

The ipaddress/admin url works but the username and password isn't working, if you log in with the normal username and password the Set Downgrade option isn't there.

Has Mitel taken the downgrade facility away?

My sales director went to see a prospective customer, they have a 3300 CXi with around 20 IP phones.

The customer believes that calls are not queuing properly on the 3300, as in some people get through after ten minutes whereas other people get through after a minute (It's a busy doctors practice). They have call queuing messages apparently.

On a 5000 if you route calls to a hunt group and they are waiting for an agent to come free even if a queuing message is currently playing the call is still ringing to the group, is it the same case on MCD or is the call removed from the group to play the queuing message then dumped back in (I thought unlikely)??

I'm just wondering about this really as we are quoting to replace the 3300 with a 5000.
