Title: Mitel 5624 Decline Call gives busy
Post by: acejavelin on November 17, 2017, 10:20:31 AM
Anyway to get the 5624 WiFi phone to send a call to VM if you select Decline, rather than just give a busy signal?

acejavelin,

What type of message does it send when you press Decline?

Thanks,

TE

603 Declined

acejavelin,

The 600 codes are specifically for SIP, but that code is not one that you can do anything with within the MiVO-250 that I am aware of. Unless there is something within the phone itself to determine what happens when the call is declined then I would say that you will get a constant error beep when it happens.

Sorry,

TE

Doesn't appear to be any way to change the Decline button's behavior... Installing my first one on a 5000 for a customer on Monday that is a coffee shop just jumping on the local YMCA's system and it will be their only phone. Guess I will just have to tell them not to use that button.

acejavelin,

I would put in a ticket with Mitel just to be on the safe side. You know as well as I do that they hide a lot of things in the background and it isn't always obvious what some of the functions are.

Thanks,

TE

I may do that on Monday, I don't have access to a Window machine to open a ticket on TechCentral Tracker at home (we are all Linux here)... And I might just talk to the customer about forwarding to VM when busy and foregoing call waiting. It's a coffee shop, I doubt they will be getting or making many calls.

I can change it to respond "486 Busy Here" when Decline is pressed... Anything I can do with that?

Nevermind I guess... According to tech support it is "working as designed" and "Decline" is only supported on the 3300.

Acejavelin,

Have you tried setting your System Forwarding on Busy Condition to go to Voicemail; that might work if you can send a 486 Busy Here message. My guess is with this device they won't be taking more than one call at a time anyway so camp-on would probably be useless to them.

Thanks,

TE

Appreciate it... That's what I did. Decline still gives a busy signal but there is far less chance of it being used. Thanks.
