Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Phybridge/Streamline impressions
« on: May 05, 2015, 02:47:18 PM »
To any of you using Phybridge/Streamline for the Mitel 3300, Mitel 5000, or any other IP phone product, can you give me your impression of the product? Is it reliable, dependable, and free of issues or do you have problems failures on a regular basis? If you had issues, how difficult were they to address to an acceptable solution?

The reason I ask is some of our management team are questioning the reliability and "enterprise-grade" dependability of this product over the long haul... I may be linking this discussion back to them for your input. :)

BTW, I have no issues with this product... I have deployed small installations of this with Mitel and Polycom phones with no issues, I have no question about the viability of this product.

(I am aware this is a duplicate thread, if you answer in one you do not need to answer in the other one(s)... I am just trying to get as much input as possible)

I am very familiar with the proper ports to forward for an external MiNet or Inter-Tel phone on the 5000, but what ports need to be forwarded for a SIP softphone to work from the public internet, specifically the Bria softphone client? I know 5060 but are any other ports required, say for RTP or other messaging?

Maybe my memory if failing since I don't work on these as much as I used to, but in an ACD Hunt group, if you have a CRA set for the Announcement or Overflow point, then have an option to be transferred to a mailbox, it should work right?

Call comes in and rings HG 2100
Announcement Timer expires, sent to CRA 2501
CRA 2501 has an option (2) to transfer to Mailbox 2999 and the call is no longer presented to the HG since it was transferred.

"Sorry, all of our agents are busy at the moment, please stay on the line to continue holding or press 2 to leave a message"

I was pretty sure this would work, but I am questioning myself now, and just a got a ticket that it wasn't working...

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Voicemail to Email attachment size
« on: October 20, 2014, 12:06:27 PM »
Does anyone have a good rule of thumb as to what the WAV or MP3 attachment size is for a recording/message that is sent from Voicemail to Email? I have customer that is not getting long recordings, in excess of 30 minutes, possibly up to 60 minutes long, delivered to email because their server is rejecting the message do to size... They are willing to increase the attachment size limit, but are not sure how large to set it.

Saw some discussion on this before with some handsets on the SX2000, but is the mute button not working in the 5330e/5340e sets on a SX200  v5.0.2.12 software?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Program speed dial on a button
« on: August 27, 2014, 11:56:19 AM »
Seems like I have been getting this question a lot lately since it is not real intuitive... so I wrote up a short guide to give to customers, feel free to steal, modify, and use as you wish...

I have a hotel property getting a new SX200ICP AX system, and they purchased one 5540 IP Console, one 5340, and three 5330 IP sets... they would like to have it setup for incoming calls like this:

Initial call coming in rings the 5540 and 5340 at the front desk simultaneously, then after ~4 rings starts ringing those two devices plus two additional 5330's, then after 4 additional rings it goes to the main AA. They would also like to have "shared" hold positions, meaning if the 5540 puts the call on HOLD 1, it appears to be on HOLD 1 position on all phones... My initial thought was to setup all the IP sets as sub-attendants, share the LDN appearances of the console and use immediate rining on the 5340, delayed ringing on 2 of the 5330s, and no ring on the last 5330, but I am not sure about the hold positions. Is this even possible?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Phones responding slowly
« on: August 08, 2014, 11:31:51 AM »
I have a customer with a Mitel 5000 v5.1 SP4 PR5 (5.1.0.52) with 32 Mitel 5360 phones, and on a few occasions, like now, all the phones just slow down, with a delay of several seconds to answer or dial, they just kind of become unresponsive for a couple seconds. CPU utilization never exeeds 50%, and is generally only around 20%.

This has happened a few times, reboot seems to clear it up for a while then it recurs. I am doing a weekly reboot on Thursdays at 5:00am (this morning was the last one) and the customer is complaining it is happening again today starting at 10:00am. Any ideas what is going on here?

EDIT: Just spoke to the customer, they are also stating that that sometimes they dial an extension that is idle, and the system says it is busy... Weird.

Non-Mitel Chatter / Multi-port iPocket replacement
« on: July 18, 2014, 12:43:00 PM »
Does anyone know of a good iPocket replacement that gives you 3 or 4 serial ports over one Ethernet connection? I know there is the Ether232DUO that gives you two ports, but we have been doing several hotels lately and installing 3 iPockets works fine, but it is a huge cabling mess once you install a little 5-port switch, 3 iPockets, and all the associated patch cords and serial cables... if there was a 3 or 4 port version of this it would make the installation so much simpler.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / MOH in Hunt Group
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:57:59 AM »
So I have a customer with a 5000 CP v6 system with an ACD Hunt Group, and what they want in Busy/NA condition is to have:

1) Call rings in (caller hears ringback)
2) After 18 seconds an announcement plays with an option to stay on the line or press 2 to leave a message
3) Caller gets Music-On-Hold
4) Caller listens to MOH for another 45 seconds
5) Same annoucement as step #2
6) Caller gets Music-On-Hold
7) Steps 4-5 repeat for 5 minutes
8) Caller is sent to a CRA with options

Now, I have all this working in a single ACD group, EXCEPT I cannot get MOH to play between the various announcements, it just gives the caller ringback again... Am I missing something, or do I have to create a second group and recall the first group to a second one with the Audio for Calls Ringing this Device set to 5000 CP?

Thanks for any guidance...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Anybody running MCD 7.0 yet?
« on: June 30, 2014, 09:52:28 AM »
Got a series of upgrades to do this week for a couple different customers, any reason not to go directly to MCD 7.0 from 4.0 or 5.0?

Been trying to get this working for a while now, figured out a few things but am a little stumped...

In doing some Wireshark traces, I verified that HTTPS (443/TCP) and Telnet-TLS (2000/TCP) is required to do web based programming.

(WORKING NOW) Onsite:

1) Use Chrome and install the latest Java from http://www.java.com
2) Close Chrome after you verify that Java is installed properly
3) Go to Start -> All Programs -> Java and open "Configure Java"
4) Go to the Security Tab and move the slider down to Medium
5) In Exception Site List, click on "Edit Site List" and add http://xx.xx.xx.xx and https://xx.xx.xx.xx to the list, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of the SX-200ICP. Acknowledge and accept any security pop-up warnings, click OK
6) Click Apply and then OK
7) Restart Chrome
8 ) Open http://xx.xx.xx.xx and login
9 ) Run/Allow/Accept any warning windows from Java
10) Reload the page if needed with F5 or SHIFT-F5

Should now be working On-site.

Offsite:

I attempted the same thing... Setup proper port forwarding (443/TCP & 2000/TCP) in the router to the SX-200 ICP's IP address from their public IP, and added the public IP to Exception Site List in Java Control Panel, but here is where the glitch comes in... I can get the login screen, and successfully login as installer, then the Java script loads and runs properly, and the Java Console looks normal with no errors, but I cannot get any content from the ICP, the menu loads on the left, but the right panel shows nothing or "Connection lost. Reload to reconnect" message and nothing I have done has been able to get it to work.

I also cannot get the Mitel Telnet-TLS client to work on port 2000 remotely, it says it connects, but I cannot get any response from the SX-200.

Any ideas on off-site connection problems?

I have a hotel with a SX-200AX that just activated a full time auto attendant, which is working fine except when the call is transferred to an ONS cordless phone it shows "7101 Vmail 1" instead of the external caller's caller ID information. Any way to change this?
