Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Accidental Digits Dialed

It might be easier to find new users.   ;)

I can only think of one thing to do.
Put the fax in its own tenant that has access to the trunks but not to the users.

Then if they don't dial the 9 then at least the call will fail.

Ralph

I might have to learn how to do that, pretty neat sounding.  Thanks for the tip Ralph.

From the ring group, there is an "overflow point" field that you can fill out with another ring group or hunt group, a valid extension can be put there.  After the timer expires on the ring group it flows into the overflow point.  If there isn't one, then it should  "Ring until answered".  You can set up 2 ring groups and bounce the call between the 2 until some one answers.  (I am tempted to do this in my facilities since the end users despise answering a phone, and find it convenient to blame my beloved Mitel)

Enterprise Manager is going away for the Mitel Performance Analytics platform.  Now you get 2 options Cloud Based MPA or On-Prem base MPA which is MPA +.  For the on-prem you need at least 1 boss controller, either real or VM, and then set up your links to talk to it.  From what I have been told by my Vendor is that we need to upgrade our Software assurance packages to even handle the MPA Cloud based solution.  I have yet to see this in action by any one, or the enterprise manager.  But it is something we are trying to figure out since we have zero visibility on our various buildings and their truck usage.

BTW, any one here an expert on simpleSMDR? Where do you find the bloody "Streaming Port"?

I think so, since the system will be looking for a 24 port ONSP on boot, not "No card installed".  I do not like to assume that the controller will read the card and say " o Hi there Mr. 24 port, let me go ahead configure you!"

Did you check the digit translation table to see if the number is being modified on the way out?   Did anything change from the Telco? Is there a new block of numbers that the Telco has assigned and the system thinks they are LD?

22
yes you should.  Is this controller in production? are you able to change the card type, power off the system and reseat the card?

This also applies to ancient paging adapters.  How ever some paging adapters appear to be old enough that the easiest way to get them upgraded is by plugging the paging adapter into the controller directly.  I suggest this be done BEFORE you put the system into production.

Did you try to put the site in your "trusted Sites" list, and also add it as an exclusion?

If Ralph can show me how to upload a file to this forum, you can use the DHCP option generator that I have, this lets you generate everything correctly, but yes it looks like a comma between the 2 call servers will suffice, how ever this program only lets you define 1 TFTP server, so I am not sure how to address that bit.

So instead of saying Cabinet 2, Shelf 1, Slot 1, 24 Port ONSP, 24 Port ONSP, it says Cabinet 2, Shelf 1, Slot 1, No Card, No Card?

Have you selected a slot and, then select change and attempted to change the programmed card type?

lundah: my buildings are mostly Skilled Nursing or Retirement homes, so the overhead paging is usually already installed.  Now I do see some paging amps getting upgrading in the future since they are becoming audio geriatrics.

We also told our Sr. Management that we need to replace our systems, and we got some pushback, then 4 phone systems imploded in one year, now they listen to us and we make sure we don't get gouged by our installers and cabling vendors.  It's turned into a good relationship.

With the Windows Server, you should be able to configure either Option 43 or 125 with the a hex value.  I have a tool from Mitel called DHCP OPT, which spits out the correct Hex string to put in for 125.  For fail over, I would adjust the lease timers to that way the phones will prefer the primary, but then once it doesn't get an address from it, it will take the shorter lease timer from the Windows server.  I have not seen any fail over options on the Mitel systems so far...

I am noticing that one of my installers also just uses the System speed calls as well instead of listing out the DID.  I think this way gets the system up faster.  and I guess if I want to make a big stink I can go in and do add them in later.  Sounds like it is "Shooters Preference" when it comes to installing, and you as the user/admin need to know how your tech did it to find the info later.

Most of my facilities already have an overhead paging amp, so I have become a master of installing the paging adapters along with my installers.  That set up doesn't create any impact on the controller.
