The AWC needs to be upgraded to MCA.  The error stating there is a newer client download is a bug because even if you turn off the MCA feature for the UCA feature profile, you will still get that error because your UCA is configured with a collaboration server.  The client installs with the collaboration server enabled regardless of your feature profile.  The latest release of 4.0.0.25 still has this bug.  I just went through this with a new install and Mitel.

For installers out there, if you install UCA and you have MCA, do NOT install the MCA blade on the same server as UCA unless you plan on getting it running.  If the blade is installed, UCA still tries to run the collaboration server regardless of features.  Also, if UCA and MCA are on the same server, I would suggest that your DN of MAS is the FQDN of MCA.  Example:

MAS - collab.domain.com - Locally resolved
MCA - collab.domain.com - Externally and internally resolved and points to internal LAN IP
UCA - uca.domain.com - Externally and internally resolved and points to internal LAN IP
UCA - always build via FQDN and never IP

Once this is done, and users browse to collab.domain.com, they will automatically be routed to collab.domain.com/portal.  You can still access collab.domain.com/server-manager internally.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Mobile UCA App
« on: June 18, 2012, 10:18:20 AM »
The mobile app works fine on iOS.  As akuhn stated, if you turn on location services it will eat your battery because the app is constantly checking your current location.  Make sure that GPS is enabled on your device.  I have tested this with an iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4S.

Verify your UCA is actually programmed via FQDN and NOT IP as well.  This can cause weird random issues.

What version of 5000 are your running and what voicemail are you using?  The base voicemail, Enterprise Messaging, Nupoint, ESNA?

Default the phone (Factory feature code 394). Turn Handsfree on or off depending if the user wants to use it (factory feature code 319).  Turn Headset on or off if the user is using a headset (factory feature code 317).

Verify that GoogleApps does not use TSL or SSL.  If it does it will not work over an encrypted connection like this.

He's running 53XX phones so it is at least 3.0. The original Dynamic Extension appeared at that version albeit unreliable at that stage.

Send the call to a hunt group with as many calls as you need at time to ring in (2 phantoms, 2 calls, etc. ) Add the phantoms as DSS/BLF keys on the phones labeled call 1, call 2.  Change the hold key to System Hold and not Station or Individual hold?

Well, the identify the call itself, you can build a CRA for each office that times out to the hunt group for each office.  So when calls get transferred to the CRA, that rings the hunt group, the office phone will show the name of the CRA for identification.  Regarding the Office manager not wanting to hear the phone ring all day....great customer service =D  Half the time we spend our lives trying to make a system work like their old Key system but this is the one instance where we need to make it not ring but ring!

No. The secondary extension will always ring with at least a single notification. I am trying to wrap my head around this configuration.  I have installed a hundred 5k's and honestly, have used secondary extensions ONCE and that was for a very special situation.  Considering the users need to answer all inbound calls to the main number and differentiate personal DID calls, they must be using some type of call accounting?!?!  So I am guessing that they want the users to answer inbound calls from the main number and not have their phone ring when a DID call comes in?!?! Can you clarify?

It works with that flag turned on.

Reset the user name and password to the default values by resetting the IP DECT Stand. To reset the stand, press and hold the RESET button for great than 10 seconds. The defaults are:

username: admin
password: admin

Good Luck,

Kevin
