When you do a backup in the MSL console of MiCollab say to the desktop, are the voice files from NuPoint included in the backup or just the configuration data?
-
MSL backups will only store the MSL config data. To backup the NuPoint config and messages you have to enter the NuPoint text console and run either a USP or LAN backup in NuPoint.

Really??? Wonder why is it 100MB (I know that isn't large, but it seems bigger than the normal MBG backups of like 3-5MB)...
So each individual blade like MBG, AWC, etc, all need to be backed up individually for things like an update (this is vMiCollab 6.0) or disaster restore? I thought the a point of having everything in one server was you could backup everything at one???

I've done full restores of MAS/MiCollab systems and had the NuPoint data transfer. Standalone NuPoint used to require two seperate backup and restores, but MAS/MiCollab has been doing this for a while.
I would point you to the release notes of NuPoint 8.1 for this:
"After you upgrade NuPoint UM software on a standalone VMware platform, the system will automatically restore the software blades and NuPoint database. Previously, these steps had to be performed manually."

No, the singular backup from a MAS/MiCollab server will restore the data for all the blades, including NuPoint.

Whew... That is what I thought... so it includes voice data (the messages and greetings) as well?
-
My experience is that it does include messages and greetings.

OK, that was my only *real* question... lundah's comment just threw me off and made me question myself, thanks for the confirmation of info.

MiCollab back up does Nupoint from what I've seen. You can also back up Nupoint from the console, but there isn't a way to do a restore.
-
I can confirm all backs up and succesfully restores including messages and even MWI status.
-
So in the case of it containing a MiVoice Business Express (3300) blade, that database and configuration is backed up and restored as well?

I just did an upgrade to one of those a few weeks ago, and can confirm that the 3300/MCD is included in the backup. (Which I was honestly surprised by.)
