Title: Micollab client for mobile
Post by: sunspark on January 30, 2018, 09:42:34 AM
Hi guys,

I have some issues with micollab client for mobile android + iPhone

Micollab client in lan mode
Mbg 1 in dmz1
Mbg 2 in dmz 2

Micollab Mbg + mbg1 + mbg2 in a cluster.

When i open the application it works , but when i switch to another application or i let the application in the background after 1 minute

, Softphone shows "Registration lost"

I have to leave the application or OFF/On ,  then open it back to make it works

Micollab client V8
Micollab server in V7.3

I'm not sure if i upgrade the server to the last version 8 . it will resolve this case.

If someone have the same issue , or if some one can  give me the android apk in V7 to test . i will appreciate.

Cheers.

We used to see this with Samsung Android devices that have VoLTE service... not sure why. On WiFi it was always fine, but on mobile data it we had similar issues. There never was a solution except to disable VoLTE.

The support recommend to upgrade Micollab to V8 and Mbg to V10

Hi there,

We've also seen the same with our Samsung devices, but they are running on Android 5.1.1.

On our LG devices with Android v7 on with MiCollab running on 5GHz Wifi and 4G, we haven't seen a problem in testing so far, although it really does depend on cellular coverage.

One fix I looked at for this but was more complex, was create a VPN tunnel from the device onto a OpenVPN server with an always on connection, this helped us in the sense it was purely using cell data for MiCollab but the connection was always open, so it wasn't dropping. Not a perfect solution, but if you have the tools available it's a good experiment, plus it gives you a kind of MDM facility too.

Cheers

Steve

There is another topic where an Iphone user is having problems running client 8 with server 7.x. It is recomendable to upgrade Server.
