Title: DHCP Scopes
Post by: MitelAvayaNortel on February 11, 2017, 09:23:53 AM
I have a site with no controller of its own that runs less than a dozen handsets. We currently set the Teleworker Gateway on these handsets to the IP of the home controller for them and let them get a DHCP address from the local Windows Server.  If I setup a second scope on the home controller and use a DHCP forwarder on the switch at the small site would that work to avoid the need to enter the home controller as a Teleworker Gateway whilst at the same time not issuing the small site addresses to the network local to the controller?

I know I have probably explained that very badly, if it's hard to understand I'll try to make a network diagram up.

Thanks

In theory that would work, if you have the phones in a different VLAN at the remote site than their "normal" data network.

Why not just add the appropriate options to the DHCP scope in the Windows box at the remote site? A quick Option 43 assignment and your done.
