Title: Selectable CPN Substitution on SIP Trunks
Post by: Tech Electronics on August 17, 2017, 10:26:27 AM
Guys,

Alright, here is another request that the sales person said that we can do. The salesperson no longer works here and this can't be verified on how they expected this to work.

The customer has Call Center Agents that they want to be able to change their Calling Party Number Identification for each call that they make to their customers; based on the product that the customer is being call for.

For instance, if the customer has a Valvoline account and they want to call them then they want a CPN that would be different than a customer who has an Integra account. This way when the customer calls back they will do so to the 800# that the Agent Called from.

They want this to be as easy as possible for their Agents two switch between CPNs; if this is possible at all.

The phone system is Virtual and they have 30 SIP Trunks to use for all call types.

Thanks,

TE

What type of phones do they use? Depending on how many numbers they use I might try it with single line appearances. If my extension with my DID is 2001, then key 2 could be Single Line 8#2001 with CPN Subst. for Valvoline. 7#2001 for Integra and so forth. To make a call, lift receiver, press the account and make those dollars.

ZuluAlpha,

They currently have the new 6920 phones and are a Single Line user since they are ACD.

So, if I create a bunch of Single Line extensions on their phone and then set the CPN Substitution for that extension for the number they want?

I tried this and it failed, but I am not sure that I performed the steps correctly. In the case of my test it was still using the CPN Substitution of the Prime Line for the phone.

Thanks,

TE

Users and Devices > Telephone Directory Management > Associated Directory Numbers is where I do it.

I think I am wrong about the 8#2001. I can't do it on mine that way either, it keeps using my DN. If I put a single line of a system DN it does do what I want. I'm asking around to see how we do this for a couple of our users.

Are the Sip trunks proxied on a MBG?

Also make sure you have enabled "Non-Prime Public Network Identity" in their COS

ZuluAlpha,

That is the problem I had when trying to figure out a way to do this as well.

johnp,

Yes, there are proxied on a MBG; will that cause a problem?

Sarond,

I am not sure I follow what you are saying here. Do I set that on the COS of the phone that has the "phantom" extensions?

Thanks,

TE

There is an option in the COS that allows you to display CLID based on the key that is used.
I forget the exact option but I believe it's something like "Non-prime key identity" .
Set that COS then if the button is not in your DID range you can use the Associated Directory Number form for the CPN substitution.
