Will the MiVoice Office incorporate ShoreTel IP devices in future releases? When is the next software release?
Thanks.

Lol... Nope... Maybe it will be like Toshiba, supply maintenance hardware for a year and a migration path out. ;)

No they haven't. The deal was announced, but it hasn't closed yet. And even after that happens (if it happens), there's a long process to make that a reality. In short, no one knows yet.

This is a done deal Lundah. Nothing is pending...

I doubt Mitel will ever attempt to re-brand ShoreTel sets or add ShoreTel handset support the MiVO 250. The overall look, design philosophy, and call control protocol is 100% foreign. It's a monstrous amount of work just in programming alone, especially due to proprietary call control. If Mitel put any effort in, they would add MiNET support to ShoreTel systems, which an even greater monumental task, and would make little sense. The teams would have to go over the code and learn the programming habits of ShoreTel for the past 20 years and attempt to add a completely new concept.
They did pull this off with the Intl 5000 because they hired basically the entire Inter-Tel dev team. This same team by the way is essentially developing the 3300 code and a lot of the old timers are now retired or gone.
The MiVO 250 added a price point and market segment that Mitel couldn't touch before. If ShoreTel has such a segment, perhaps there will be development interest, otherwise I'm with ace on this one, support for a while, then migration path.

Anytime... the big thing added will be support for 69xx series phones.

Field trials for the 6900 integration to the 250 start this month and run through October. Have to think the release will be in November.

Thanks Jbbts!! Many articles say the biggest advantage of the ShoreTel buy is it allows Mitel to offer CPaaS,

UC Market is consolidating. Google, Amazon Among Speculated Buyers If RingCentral M&A Rumors Are True. Windstream purchasing Broadview.

In my opinion, the ShoreTel buyout was just to eliminate a competitor and secure 2nd place in the market. A show of ARMS! Damnit Cisco is still number 1! Support and migration path all the way. According to my reps, the 69** series will be supported in the 6.4 release. I can't wait. I've done a couple of deployments in Oria, and I have to say that these phones are AWESOME! 6940 for the win. Can't beat it. Comes stock with a wireless handset, pairs with your mobile, 96 programmable buttons and a wireless headset. I mean, COME ON! You no longer have to choose between a dect headset OR a PKM. You can have both. Hell, you can even get a WLAN adapter for places you can't get a cable to. Cisco has embedded wireless, but at least we're getting closer.
