MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Voice Mail to Email Synchronization

I have a client that when they receive a .wavefile voice mail from enhanced integration, they are receiving the voice mail several times and continues to send after it has been deleted. I know foward and copy is reliable, but they do not want to use it.
I have seen this as well, I can't remember the fix... but it seems to me once we got the logs and submitted them to Mitel, they had the answer quite quickly.

Depending on your system revision, it could be located a little differently, but in current software releases the path to it is:

Users and Devices
Advanced Configuration
Analog Telephones
Analog Sets

From there you can do an Export to a CSV file, it will give you Cabinet, Shelf, Slot, Circuit, extension, etc.

What kind of trunks? Analog lines or a digital circuit (we don't see many Mitel's with analog lines anymore)?

So I have a customer that has a fairly large 5000, it started around 100 phones and a single PRI, and is now 230 IP phones with 2 PRIs and networking to another 5000 with the VM for both systems hosted locally. They are having an issue with faxes being cut-off mid-page or after one page to a fax server, occasional lag in phone operation, and extremely long reboot times (like 30 minutes to operational status)... The system only has the Processor Expansion card and not a PS-1, and the CPU utilization is typically around 75% with frequent spikes of 100% and RAM usage runs in the 60-70% range. We have recommended going to a PS-1 for this customer but they are bulking at is saying their problem is elsewhere in a misconfiguration of the 5000, but we believe it is a overloading issue and have recommended a PS-1. Their primary concern at this point is the fax cut-off issue.

My real question is, what CPU usage and RAM usage levels are acceptable and where is the level that is cause for concern?

« on: January 19, 2016, 07:18:07 AM »
There are a few ways, the easiest way is via a hunt group... Create a new one, add members of managers phone and the alternative phone, set the recall point to the ACD group and set your advance timer to 10-12 seconds and your recall timeout to double that.

If you want this to happen all the time (every call 24/7) make a new System Forward Path that routes to the hunt group and apply it to the managers phone for all conditions and make it the first in the list of forward paths. If you want to be able to turn it on and off, you could use Call Forward Always to the hunt group, or make a system forward path that activates only on DND which allows them to toggle it in a single key press.

Could also do it with a multi-step System Forward path...

I'm sure there are more... but this should get you where need to be.

Good Morning,

I am working with a 3300, a call is pointing to a hunt group, the call routing for busy/no answer is pointing to the auto attendant (6000). When the call gets redirected to the AA I am getting a this person is unavailable message before the call goes to the auto attendant. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tec
Should be, or used to be, in the help documentation under embedded voicemail. You have to edit the mailbox via the TUI, and there is a prompt for "Enter technician function code", what you enter here will vary or remove that message in either a busy or no answer condition.

Assuming the blocks are not labeled, you will need to make a spreadsheet and go to each room and dial the switchboard or another display phone and note the extension number, then go into the programming web page and do an export of the analog extension form and just file in the numbers... there is no easy out for this.

Once you have the cross reference sheets, you can use the MOVE SWAP command in maintenance, or change the extension in User and Device programming, which one will depend on what the cross reference sheet looks like and how bad it's messed up.

Have you deleted the DLM ARID from the MCD, then re-associated it, then done a full sync to all network elements? That fixes most licensing issues...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: VLAN Question
« on: January 15, 2016, 12:01:35 AM »
Yes, don't change the VLAN ID in the phone system unless you are using a CXi and need to use the embedded 16-port POE switch.

Changing the VLAN on the PBX itself can make for a maintenance nightmare later on down the road.

Not familiar with it... I think it's for the Aastra platform, not the 3300.

Why not just use Bria or your SIP softphone of choice?

Phone Manager might be a good implementation for this... you can have the BLF field on the screen, and still have DECT headset.

An automated backup was occurring and the connection was lost, leaving the port locked up. I would do a scheduled reboot at 3:00am or some convenient and you should be good to go.

Sounds like you didn't put them in the same Class of Service as the other phones. Check the COS of an existing phone and set the new one to match, I would bet these things will magically start working.  ;D

No, not in the 3300/MCD.

Most fax servers, and some fax machines, have the ability to program a prefix digit, you will have to look at that end for a fix.

... notoriously buggy, particularly the dongles, and even line cords matter.
How so? We have hundreds, maybe thousands, of ports of Streamline across multiple customers and have little problems... Occasionally we see a dongle or port go bad, and line cords, well, they are line cords and most techs tend to just reuse the ones that have been in place for previous 3 phone systems rather than replacing them with new ones, so yeah I get that, but most of our Streamline/Phybridge stuff is pretty solid.

lol... I didn't even think about the NAT setting, but your right we never have to change it with a MBG, only standard port forwarding for remote phones.

My bad...
