Title: SIP ..phone ring but no audio

Hi,

I implemented sip did route to our PBX IP..when I dial the DID number..the phone will ring ..but no audio..vendor ask me enable g.729 ON mitel..where I can enable it or in sip peer profile?

G.729 is default ion Mitel 3300 type systems.

No audio is usually a ports fault. Or SIP-ALG running on the router. (needs to be turned off. If its another Mitel system I don't know.

The usual mistake I see is that a firewall admin will allow the SIP device to talk to the controller but not the end device.
That's why it will ring - it can get the signaling from the controller - but can't talk to any other phone.
The SIP device must be able to talk to any subnet where there are going to be phones talking to it.

I would verify if using G.729 you have compression licenses for the items that may need it. Think MOH does and any analog or other tdm device will
