Title: TA7102 with an analog fax on it
Post by: VinceWhirlwind on July 13, 2017, 11:50:26 PM
I just installed a TA7102 and configured it as per the doco:
"Configure the MiVoice Business 7.x for use with Mitel TA7102i (Mediatrix 41XX Series) Analog Terminal Adapter"

I attached a fax to the analog port that has the DN configured on it.

I try to send a fax - the fax dials out successfully, reaches the remote fax machine which answers, but the receiving end just says "0 pages received" and both sides log an error.

I'm logged into the TA7102 and I'm trying the different options on the "SIP" "interop" tab, SIP & SDP options, but nothing has worked.
Anybody have any ideas about how to get the answering fax to actually receive the max message?

Keep in mind once past the TA7102 it's SIP,  so you'll want to turn off ECM (error correction) in the fax machine as well as lower the fax speed to no more than 9600

It all works fine...once you know how!

I needed 2 more steps to get outgoing faxes to work:

1/ On the Media tab, under Codecs: enable G.711 u-law
2/ On the Media tab, under Misc: change "Behaviour On CED Tone Detection" to "Fax Mode".
