Non-Mitel Chatter / So long, and thanks for all the fish
« on: January 05, 2016, 09:46:15 PM »
I'm leaving the industry next week to go and study electronic engineering at university as a mature age student. I figure I'll find myself on a different career path afterward. I just wanted to say thanks to all the crew here for the help I've been given over the last few years I've been a member. I really appreciate it! :)

And for that reason, I always make the backup file name contain the ip address it was saved from.

One issue I'm still dealing with is the 5550 IP console. I've removed the software and reinstalled so I can run the configuration wizard however when it searches for ICPs it thinks there are 2 and defaults to the old IP address. The log viewer also show it trying to connect to that address and I'm wondering where it's pulling that info from.

As markyb73 said, you need to change the IP in the ICP/PBX Networking form, too. fwiw, this caught me out a few months back, too. I'd personally never touched this form before, so had no idea to look there.

OK, after a 5 hour light aircraft flight out of the Australian Outback yesterday, I missed the obvious and easier solution - you can use Make Busy keys, which you probably already have.

If you can train the users to be disciplined enough, you can use group presence keys to have them in or out of queues when they are at their desks (or not).

We used to get this on an older MCD5 release with hotdesk extensions. Apparently there is (was?) a voicemail cleanup process that runs at 3am that was causing the problem. Upgrading to a later release resolved it.

I tend to suspect firewalls in cases like these. Your first step should be to capture the session with Wireshark. Does the RTP stream come from a different IP than the SIP proxy at the provider end?

Sorry, I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I wanted to thank you for sharing your code.

PS, I can not use SMPT the 3300 controller is completely offline

Well, not completely - you're able to access it from another machine, which could run an SMTP service. There's plenty of free ones around. I'd personally probably run Linux in a Virtualbox VM and do something in there.

Still, programmatically pulling the attachment out of an email might have it's own challenges depending on how you approach it.

Just to substantiate my previous post - the switch in question now has an uptime of 367days. It looks like LLDP is the culprit.

The user has to dial into voicemail and turn off that option. Can't remember the sequence, but if you find a full user guide it will tell you how.

Aha. I see where the confusion on my part stems from. I followed the help from the Multiline Set Keys form into Line Appearance Ring Types.

In that case, if the extensions concerned aren't using VM, you might be able to set up a Call Forward No Answer to a multicall key with Ring set.

From Help:
Quote
Ring causes your telephone to ring immediately and continuously. If a non-prime line is set to "Ring", it will only ring once when you are busy on your prime line.

Isn't this what you are asking for?

14
I may be missing something but Ring Continuous specifically rings when you are busy on a call. Is there a reason you can't just use Ring?

It took a while, but I was eventually able to check this out. I didn't have access to PuTTY, but the PLATFORMTYPE maintenance command did the job, even on such an old version. Thanks. :)
